Anyone try 3-4 in madden online?

using it my future version of the jets...some crazy blitzes

 

3 - 4 is horrible for Madden. it's so easy to run on...I'll never use 3 - 4 even if that's what they officially change to. Zcore is my online name too in EA if any one dares to play me

With the 3-4 on Madden you should ALWAYS bring at least one LB on every play. I like to put a LB on a blitz on the weakside of the offense. I usually play the 4-3, but I have had success in the 3-4. I will be using it exsclusively in 2007.

 

I have manual updated rosters to where I have Kimo-DRob-Ellis...Chatham-Barton-Vilma-Hobson...Dyson-Rhodes-Coleman-Miller

At 1st it took awhile and I didn't like it. But now I have the hang of the 3-4 for the most part. The zone-blitzing is such a good asset. And your pretty much a guaranteed QB pressure if you blitz with the weakside LB and use the DE to take out the Tackle, giving the OLB a free-run...I like it, got used to it.

 

3-4 may be better against the pass but its such a liability against the run in the game

 

I like the 3-4 drop zone on online play alot of people dont run right they hit the wrong holes and rely on the pass as a crutch .

Back when I used to play Madden I usually never took defense seriously unless it was in a big spot like a 4th and 1 or near the end zone.

Often times I would just click some 4-3 formation and then the next play I'd click on a 3-4 formation.

Offense I took seriously, but not defense.
Maybe that's why I only won about 60% of the time.

 

I run 3-4 as my base D switching to 1-5-5 prowl and Dime at times. I always bring at least 2 blitzers when in the 3-4 - depending on what I'm trying to stop I bring them from diff locations. If I'm facing a team that has a quick back an likes to run sweeps, or has a quick QB I bring them from the outside. Otherwise, I bring them up the gut. Obviously this can change based on the situation. I use the same strategy with the 1-5-5 prowl - this defense can really confuse people. I like to manually control a safety to make passing more difficult for the opponent. When I go to dime it's usually 3 and 20 or more by then because I'm nasty at defense - I'll just go with 2 safeties and man up or maybe send a blitzing LB or CB. If someone scores more than 10 on me they've done a hell of a job.
