Honestly, I think they just need to change the events for the combine. Keep the shuttle, scrap the 40 and replace it with 10 yard sprints for lineman and linebackers and 20 yard sprints for everybody else (every drill on the grass, in pads, in their position's stance), add the 5-star drill, scrap the bench press, add the squat and power clean, scrap the 60-yard shuttle, keep the broad and vert jumps, and add the incline bench press. That would leave you with: OL/DL/LB 10 yard sprints QB/HB/WR/TE/DB/P/K 20 yard sprints 5-star drill Squat Power Clean Incline Bench Press Broad Vert All drills that are actually applicable to football.
