With the AAF folding (if not yet already), NFL teams are already signing players from the league. Anyone the Jets should be looking at? Plz refrain from Hack replies. I don't need my Friday ruined.
I'll do a more throrough look later but I like Charles Johnson. Like him last year. I know he is a little older but wouldn't mind him as the fourth or fifth. Don't think he does special teams and he is older so probably not for us but hope he lands somewhere. Was promising before the injury and played well last preseason. Speaking of preseason stars whatever happened to Tre McBride? Wonder if he signed somewhere this offseason. He played well last preseason too.
McBride signed a futures contract with Washington. He's there with another former Jet, ArDarius Stewart.
Jalin Marshall? I remember him making some catches over there. He was a player for us but just couldn't not fumble.
Jayrone Elliot :Edge 27 years old, led the league with a 91.9 pass-rushing grade . 28 total pressures , 7 1/2 sacks 6 QB hits in 8 games. Jamar Summers CB. Was one of the best corners while playing with a banged up knee. Both worth a look IMO
I'd give him a tryout for sure.. He's not a speedster really, but he's shifty and versatile. Maybe he'd fit with Gase's offense.
I kind of wish I’d had the chance to watch a bit before it evaporated. Infants wait for no one, however.
October after one season. He showed a few great catches was kinda pissed cause he looked like a really good development project. Just had focus issues and a two-game suspension for something.
January 7, 2019. KOB was correct. Jets released him in October 18, he signed with the Raiders who cut him 2 weeks later, Washington signed him to a future reserve on new years Eve and released him on Jan 7. He was suspended for PED use.
For a while, people were talking about QB Luis Perez, Birmingham, as the next Kurt Warner/Jim Kelly. He started off really strong but seems to have faded toward the end of the season. Might be a decent backup. Hard to get any stats on the guy because the league has shut down the official site.
Terence Garvin. Linebacker from the Orlando Apollos. He has played in the NFL for Pittsburgh and Washington. He was the best defensive player I saw in that league. I'd bring him in and let him compete for a backup linebacker spot/special teamer. A little older though
Jamar Summers, Cornerback from the Birmingham Iron, he also deserves a spot in the NFL. He is a little different than Garvin, as he is younger with a lot more potential. A big corner, he is still only 23 years old. I believe he was undrafted and was in camp with Pittsburgh last year. Anyway, he was great in the AAF. Lots of pass breakups and some INTs. He reminds me a bit of Marcus Coleman who we had here. I believe he could make this Jets team, corner is a weakness.
I also think Karter Schult, a tweener DE deserves a chance somewhere. He played for Salt Lake and I believe he lead the AAF in sacks. You watch him play and he is always around the ball and truly relentless. You root for a guy like him. I think he might be too small for the NFL though. But like I said, he deserves another chance, he doesn't quit and I find myself always interested in defenders that always find the football. -- I watched alot of the AAF haha
Remember. They are playing in AAF for a reason. Not just center. Not just QB. Not just pass rushers. EVERYONE.
Yeah....the competition isn't graded very high. A player would really have to be a few steps above to really be worth a shit. lol...Hackenberg couldn't play a lick even against scrubs. What a black mark for Mac...
2 years ago we would be hoping this guy could be a franchise and then would bitch he never got a fair shot.
