Didn't pass concussion protocol. http://www.latimes.com/sports/sportsnow/la-sp-sn-antonio-brown-concussion-20160115-story.html Antonio Brown has been ruled out for the Pittsburgh Steelers' AFC divisional playoff game Sunday against the Denver Broncos after suffering a concussion during the team's wildcard game against the Cincinnati Bengals last weekend. It's pretty certain this means he wasn't faking the injury after taking a hard hit to the head from Cincinnati's Vontaze Burfict late in the fourth quarter of that Steelers' victory. Burfict was called for unsportsmanlike conduct, one of two such calls against the Bengals on the play, helping the Steelers move into position for the game-winning field goal. Since that game, Cincinnati's Adam "Pacman" Jones has accused Brown of faking the injury, saying the Steelers receiver winked at him as he was leaving the field. During a Showtime interview on Tuesday, Jones said he would apologize to Brown if he ended up being unable to play this week due to a concussion.
I am not really sure how I feel about this. On one hand, I like Broncos to win so that I can see another Manning-Brady showdown in Denver and pretty sure Denver D would choke Brady again. On the other side, I remember Manning choking a lot in playoffs and see Steelers having a better chance against the Patriots. I will not root for any team in this matchup. Both sides 50-50 in my book.
One of the worst cheap shots I've seen this side of Jack Tatum/Daryl Stingley, could have broken his neck
So I guess Brown is going to win an Oscar for best actor? Sucks he is out. He is One of my favorite players in all of football. The way he runs his routes, drags his feet, catches a screen and explodes downfield, just a tremendous football player
Denver should be ashamed if they find a way to lose this one. No Brown Banged up Big Ben One of the worst Steelers defenses we have ever seen
fuck that, Bowles should have the red carpet out. play him 2 games a year. at Foxboro, and home vs NE. see if he has some Pollard mojo.
He admitted in his interview the other day with Brandon Marshall that he'd man up if he was wrong. Let's see if he delivers. In a related note, I found that interview to be very refreshing. A whole different approach to the crap we see on sports shows that only feature ex-players and ex-coaches. I thought Marshall did a fine job this year, and would like more shows bring the insight I saw from Brandon and the Marshall/Pacman interview.
Brandon has been great all year. Really impressive how he's managed to interview current players and discuss the current state of the NFL while also playing (very well) in the largest market. He's got a long career ahead of him in the studio.
I agree. Marshall has a lot of good things to say. A lot of the media could learn from him...if they cared too.
The airways are just too full of former players/coaches with their "well when I played the game" rhetoric, or you get current coaches/players in the studio only after their own season has ended, who seem too reluctant to go to far or to step on toes. Brandon's insight week after week, bringing a player's perspective to the discussion was refreshing. And the Pacman interview, which felt like two guys just sitting down to discuss the issue without regard to the camera or opinions, was brilliant. Good, honest insight IMHO.
Without knowing too much about Pacman the "man" and just going off past incidents and kind of reputation around the league , I thought he was bad character guy, trouble maker, "cancer", danger to development of young teammates...But I thought that interview humanized him well. Not that Jones hasn't done wrong to create the bad image, but the media has really painted him as a bad guy...for awhile now. It was nice to see Marshall bring the real character out of him. Pacman is wrong, Brown did not fake the injury. The "faking" comment was stupid. I think Jones will own it though. And I actually have a lot more respect for him as a player. I don't think he is as bad as the media has made him out in the past. Or at least I think Adam Jones has grown up a lot along the way. And...Pacman is 1000000% right about Porter being on the field. Porter should not be on the field...the only person who should have been flagged there is/was Porter.
