I know, I know, we need offensive weapons, as our current crop of WRs is, well, offensive. I don't see Santonio being a Jet for more than a couple of years, and while Hill has shown flashes, I don't think he's going to be what we all hoped he would be. I see him as a Bryan Thomas type pick, where he does a decent enough job at his position to not lose it, but who isn't a guy who will even live up to expectations. Also, Barr is a top 5 prospect, and I see us picking somewhere in the 9-14 range.

But let's say that he drops to us at #9 for some reason. Do you go with him? I can see the arguments against it, and they make sense. But I really like this guy, and if he could replace Pace, we truly would have the fearsome front 7 in the NFL. You certainly don't hurt your football team by making the strongest part of your team better, the way I see it.

For the record, I will probably lose my mind if we don't take a WR in the first round, as there are a few really nice prospects coming out this year. And finding a good, field stretching #1 WR with good hands for Geno absolutely has to be a priority. And if we were to go defense, it would have to be for a DB, as our secondary has gone from damn good to utter shit. Still, adding Barr to this front 7? Would be awful fun watching offenses try and move the ball on us.

If Barr drops to us, we need to be all over it. 150%.

If we get Barr, we instantly have the best front-7 in all of football.

If Rex is still around in 2014, I could see Barr as a possibility. It's clear that Pace is adequate, but not the long term solution. If the Jets win some more games and are around 7-9 or 8-8 Barr will be gone.

I think there may be 4 QBs (Jax, Browns, Texans & Oakland) drafted in the top 12 and that could help the Jets land Barr or a WR like Evans or Watkins

If I had to guess, the Jets will be looking at WRs like Watkins and Evans in early to mid Rd 1. Right now, Mike Evans is my # 1 WR in 2014's draft, he's clearly the best WR in the nation. I was severely criticized, by many in this forum over a month ago that Mike Evans isn't worth a Rd 1 pick, he's rated as the #1 WR by many now.

That's high praise, maybe a little premature.

I compare his physical ability close to Anquan Boldin and his size similar to Vincent Jackson.

Agreed for the most part. I don't think Oakland is a lock to go QB depending on how Terrelle Pryor finishes the season (can't believe I just typed that) and whether or not the best QB available for where the Raiders will be selecting would project as a clear and distinct better player than Pryor. And there's always the outside chance that Case Keenum takes the Texans world by fire.

Jets clearly need WR help (especially since Tone Time won't be back for next season) and if either of Evans or Watkins are available, that's probably gonna be the direction the Jets go in, although Anthony Barr would be really hard to pass up.

Barr's stock is rising rapidly. He might go Top 5 and Jets will pick in the vicinity of 12-16. So he won't be around for us to pick.

Barr has been mentioned as a top five for a bit now. More along the lines for us edge rusher wise in mid to late one will be guys like Kyle Van Noy, Vic Beasly and Khalil Mack

He's a Vincent Jackson clone as WW85 mentioned above, Calvin is a freak 6'5 and can outrun guys 40 lbs lighter than him. Evans doesnt have that kinda speed but he's physical and is a beast in the redzone.

As for Barr i wouldnt hate the pick, my favorite defensive prospect in the draft but we just need offensive help more than we need an elite defense at this point. Both can be had but we have to be extremely lucky to pull those two off.

I like Evans also but I cannot figure out why alot of people overlook Brandon Coleman if he were on A&M he'd be the 2nd coming heck if he had better QB play he would be valued a little more.

I wouldn't mind Barr, but I want Watkins. I like Evans too, but I think that the smaller, quicker guys work better for Marty's system. Also I think that Hill will be what I expected him to be from the beginning. I won't say that he'll be Calvin Johnson, but I do think that he'll be a really good receiver for us.

I get it about Barr but we need some weapons fro Geno. Hill is not going develop and Holmes will be cut this off season. A&M Evans is a beast and would instantly make our WR corps better. But I wouldn't stop there we should pick at least 2 WR in this draft. Marquise Lee stock is dropping and might be had in the late 2nd or early 3rd round.
