The 'Fins released Sam Madison today, and he'd be a great pick up if Miller is not ready to be a starter yet. I really think he looked shaky last season even towards the end of the season. Also, I am not high on Barrett, and last season Ty Law was able to discourage teams to passing to his side, as the majority of passes were throw away from Ty. Right now our secondary is somewhat questionable, and it would be bad news if we don't have anyone back there that discourages passers. As we stand, teams probably feel confident passing into any part of out secondary. I know we have a lot of needs but hopefully Tannenbaum takes a look at Madison and makes some sort of offer. On D we really need 1 corner and a DT, and I don't think drafting either of those positions early is a great idea. It would be sick though to see that other corner from Clemson come to NY and play with Justin, he's actually faster too. Maybe he'll get arrested in the next month or so like Justin did and he'll fall to a later round...

Help some of us lazy mo' fos' out and tell us how long he has been Sam Madison? I guess I will stop posting the same thing over and over again. This will be kinda new to my posts although I did say it once before. Saban has the right idea. Start fresh. That is what we should do and I think that is what we will do. We are not one of those teams that are a key player or two from being contenders. We were broken and needed to be fixed. 36 years, people. No matter how close we were, we weren't there. Start over EM. We need a renovation not a fresh coat of paint.

They threw at Law a lot. That is why he had 10 INT's... well, except that 3 or 4 were intentionally tipped to him by other DB's. They knew Law was not fast enough to stay with good WR's last year. That's why he had so many penalties.

With the lack of a CBA, guys like Molloy and Madison could actually end up sitting out the whole season, and don't be surprised if some rookies, especially the top ten picks never sign for 2006.

Why do u think these guys got cut? Obviously to get under the cap. Do you not think we will be doing the same with some of our guys to make room for free agents?

Room for FA's? We don't have the room to sign a top five draft pick. Teams like us, Washington, Denver, will be cutting GOOD players left and right to get under the cap. This no CBA thing means that all new contract bonuses have only 4 years to be spread out over. Now, they can't proceed like there will be no cap in 2008 (there are severe CBA restrictions on the so called uncapped year of 2007) and a TON of very good FA's and some of the top ten rookies will go unsigned.

If things stay as they are, forget about signing ANY Fa's.

We all must realize the only player(s) we will even try to get this offseason will be a NT or o-line help. We won't get anyone else. Period.

Id like to take Devin Hester in the 3rd round and groom him to eventually start when Barrett departs. Kid's got superstar potential. Set him in at corner, have him learn from one of the best former DB coaches in the league, and plug him in a few years from now

I doubt we sign any free agents with a big name.

At the combine they said they felt his "position" would be WR.

He's not ready to step in as a #1 corner. And Barrett probably never will.
