Hasn't been posted, but I just saw it on yahoo news. What a mess this guy made for himself...thought the article was interesting. I knew that he made a disastrous decision, but not this disastrous.

I would LOVE if we drafted him in the later rounds if he's still available and plug him in at right tackle, use Woody as depth. I like the quote in the article:

"The way things are going, teams will be drafting equipment managers before they draft Andre Smith"

I was thinking out of the first was certainly possible, but he be in for a free fall and land somewhere on Day 2 and I wouldn't be too surprised..

I don't see him getting past the Lions next two picks.

As of now he's still going to be a top 20 pick

A punter did more reps than Andre Smith.

This is your chest on drugs.

I'm worried he was good in college cuz of roids and now he's off them. Not worth the 17th pick.

This anonymous talk of "will he fall out of the top 10 or not" is just absurd. That is an obvious farce propagated by Smith's agent who's desperately trying to salvage this draft disaster. How many teams are going to want to give guaranteed millions to a fat, stupid, unmotivated player?

The more relevant question questions are "will he fall out of the first round or not" and "will he fall out of the first day or not".

If I were a GM, Smith would definitely not be drafted until round three at the earliest. Maybe later.

The guy is a great talent when whipped into shape. Someone will take him late first if he drops, and try to whip him into shape

This is the exact opposite of Vernon Gholston syndrome.

Gholston was not a very good football player but he was great in the weight room and he shot up draft boards all the way to #6 overall.

Smith is a great football player but he is not great in the weight room and he is sliding down draft boards.

Smith will still be a good OT in the NFL when all is said and done, and I promise you he will not fall out of the 1st day, let alone the 1st round.

Gholston set the single season sack record at Ohio State with 14 -- earning him Big 10 Defensive Lineman of the Year and First team All-American honors.

At OSU, VG was a very good football player...with his hand in the ground.

He will still be a 1st rounder. Some team that follows the Best Player Available philosophy will grab him as he starts to fall.

Mayock still has im in top 10. He has him going to Raiders. Regardless of conditioning he was a man amongst boys at LT in the toughest conference in the NCAA.

Mayock says that next visit by scouts in mid April will be key to see if he has some (any) uper body definition.

Yes he can be very productive with his hand in the ground - but in terms of football instincts and being a football player he is not what his numbers make him out to be.

He relied on his strength and quickness to get all 14 sacks - he did not have any moves on the d-line. He is a very impressive athlete, not football player. He'd be much better served had he been drafted by a team that uses the 4-3.

I completely agree -- I'm still not giving up on him as a 3-4 OLB though.
