I fired up a thread a few weeks ago alerting UK fans about the wonderful series being aired just now in the UK about the Superbowl winners- "America's Game", -I appreciate you guys have just watched the last superbowl edition, the Colts beating the Bears. For all football fans this is a wonderful look back over the game we love with great comment and insight from the major players during the superbowl winners respective seasons- For the record I have already commented that I cried unashamedly listening to Joe, Don Maynard, and the greatest Jet Rusher of all time Gerry Philbin.

Watching the series and how the Colts won in 1970 I was genuinely touched by the comments of some great players like Mike Curtis and Bubba Harris who said their Superbowl win in 1970 and all they achieved in the game meant nothing to them and how they were continually haunted by the Jets greatest victory. This was genuine comment from great players who realised that they were beaten by, on paper, an inferior team.
I'd like to have some comment back from some of you guys who know the game and those who have watched this fantastic series- what are your feelings?

It's Bubba Smith. You had the wrong name there.

This series is perhaps NFL Films' finest work and that's saying something because they have won many Emmy Awards.

I've seen almost half of them. These are the best five I have seen:
1966 Packers (Bill Curry is a big plus here)
1968 Jets (Joe Namath's final line was excellent)
1975 Steelers (first time I ever saw footage of the 1975 AFC Championship Game- the field was an icy mess)
1983 Raiders (Todd Christiansen was superb)
1985 Bears (Mike Ditka was great)

1989 49ers didn't do it for me. Too much George Seifert love.
Mike Francesa and others thought the 1986 Giants one was great. I wouldn't go that far. It was good, maybe very good, but not great.

1999 Rams and 1998 Broncos- nothing special in comparison to the others.

I won't bother to ever watch the 1992 Cowboys, 1993 Cowboys, 1995 Cowboys, 2001 Patriots, 2003 Patriots, and 2004 Patriots ones.

I really want to see the '71 Cowboys one because Duane Thomas was evidently one of the guys who was interviewed.

Reporter: Duane, are you really as fast as they say you are?

    Thomas: Evidently.

Yeah, that was why I had written that word in there. I have the full transcript of that interview somewhere. I'd have to get some more free time to post it.
