Sanchez isn't elite by any means, but he can still be good/productive. Tom Brady would have a hard time turning these pass-dropping turds into a legit WR corps. We're paying number 1 money to a number 2 WR who's short and has a bad attitude. We have turnstiles at LG and RT. Our RB is about as effective as Ron Dayne. And we have a blind guy who has no business coaching running our offense. Let's not forget the Messiah "playing" backup and running once in a while. I'm just saying, he hasn't been handed a decent hand to work with. I think thee kid can win, but you have to give him something to work with. Don't judge him on the mistakes and inept talent around him. As far as Rex goes, I love him. I think he's what the Jets need at HC. He's maintained a top notch defense working with very little talent. Aside from David Harris, NY hasn't had a decent LB since Ryan arrived, let alone a pass rush. The much needed upgrade at safety solidified the pass defense and now we need some LB's and a legit NT and we'll be in business. Bring in somebody who actually knows how to run an offense, "Doug Marrone in a perfect world" or Norv or Cam, put some pieces around Mark and see what happens. I know Jets fans are incredibly fickle, as they should be with our history of close-but-no-cigar seasons and epic failures (2012). All I'm saying is that these two need a chance and need to be given the tools to be successful. I 100% believe that Rex Ryan is the only coach in the NFL, to include Belidouche, who can take this team to the Super Bowl and manage the NY media with-out compromising his integrity and character. Let the flaming begin.
On a side note, if we got Jarvis Jones and Jadeveon Clowney in back-to-back drafts, I'd shit cucumbers.
Im a Ryan believer but since he is a Sanchez believer i have lost myself in a depth of disappointment.
I'm with you on both accounts. (1) I think Sanchez has never had a good QB Coach and OC to work with. (2) I am now convinced that Rex is clueless on things offensive. I think he can STILL be a good overall coach, but we need an Assistant Coach who runs the OC. The fact that Rex signed off on either or both Tebow and Tony "Ground & Pound" Sparano tells me he has lost it on offense (if Miami in 2011 didn't). If Rex wanted Hue Jackson in 2009 but the team wouldn't let him, then that's on Woody/MT.

Faith in Rex = Yes. Faith in Sanchez = Very little. Faith in other FA QB out there = Very little. Gonna be another tough year for Rex as he tries to push his team with terrible QB play. This is the curse Cowher had to deal with for about a decade until Big Ben got drafted.
Yep. And once he got his man....they were in business. Now Cowher is an "elite" coach, according to some.

I'm not 100% sold on giving up on Sanchez. I agree he's a tough sell but I just don't think he's as bad as he's shown this season and would love to see him with a better supporting cast. Rex on the other hand, I'm done with.
Still support both - though, this year will be telling for Sanchez. If he is lucky enough to get one last shot, how he bounces back will also determine how much support I have for him. He now knows this team will do the absolute minimal to improve the offense, he needs to be able to overcome that regardless. That is what the $$ is for.
