Do the Jets have some really good defensive players? Can we consider Jenkins, Ellis, Harris, Revis, and Rhodes to be potential Pro Bowlers? Pace has been solid. I know there has been question about Rhodes play this season but he is a very talented player. With that said, it baffles me to see how bad this defense is with 4 or 5 pretty good defensive players. I'd understand if this defense just didn't have any talent but it does. Is it not being utilized right or the players just aren't that good.
Go back and watch the tape. This game is not as bad as it looked. Jets had to play against the officials late in this game.
That's been the case the past two seasons. It goes hand in hand with not being able to make adequate in-game adjustments, and in not being able to tweak the schemes to adapt to the talent on the team.
Jenkins and Revis are the only two pro-bowl caliber players on our defense. Rhodes is very overrated on this board (and in the eyes of most Jet fans, in general). Harris is a very talented player but he hasn't done enough yet to warrant people saying he should go to the pro-bowl. Ellis is a solid defensive end and has been a good, versatile player for the Jets for a very long time, however, he clearly isn't a pro-bowler.
