Dallas have released Allen Hurns. Does anyone think we should try to bring him in to bolster the thin Jets receiving corps?
Nope. No room. Simple as that. It's going to be hard enough trying to pick only 5-6 WRs to carry when you factor in Bellamy.
Just seen this. I agree we should pick him up. He's young (27) has experience (had over 1000 yards in 2015) and will be cheap. seems like a no brainier. I'm not sold on bellamy yet. we are going to carry 6 Wrs we all know the 3 that are locks. after that there isn't much depth. add in hurns and bellamy and the 6th spot can be a fight between dortch, tay and peake or whoever else steps up. Tay can also stay for 2019 on the PS as well
also wouldn't surprise me if he wound up as a pat https://nesn.com/2019/07/bill-belichicks-allen-hurns-praise-worth-revisiting-after-wrs-release/
This a classic “ I heard of this guy we should sign him” thread. The cowboys are a playoff contender, if they released him there’s a reason.
The Cowboys feel like they are pretty loaded at receiver. Aside from Cooper, they picked up Cobb for the slot and have the young guy Gallup that they are pretty high on who plays the same snaps as Hurns did. Plus they have Tavon Austin as their Swiss Army knife. Even with all that they tried to keep Hurns with a paycut, but he wasn't buying. I'd pick him up for a few million on a prove it deal even with that gruesome injury he had, his recovery has been far ahead of schedule and he's a decent receiver. He'll probably get more than that from a desperate team that gets a preseason injury though.
Didn’t know that about his injury. I may have been too rash with my posts. I stand corrected. I’ll leave my stupid shit up there though and let everyone tee off on me as they see fit.
Remember the Jets wanted to sign him but a major snowstorm force a cancellation of his visit, he rescheduled, visited Dallas and never left. Had a big year in 2015, disappeared in 16,7,&18. Only 295 yards and 2 TDs in 16 games last year. Between his reconstructed knee and now the ankle, don't think he will ever replicate his one big year.
As someone else already mentioned, Burnett should be getting every snap available in formations where we use 4 WRs or break from the top 3 lineup of Robby, Q and Crowder.
No biggie, I would have probably said something similar if I wasn't in Texas listening to Cowboys bullshit on the radio all week.
Yea, honestly, I saw the name, remembered the I injury, threw up a little bit and assumed he still way off on his recovery. That was a brutal looking break.
Fitzpatrick Hurns stack in DraftKings could be a good value during the first part of the Fitzpatrick cycle.
