Since EA bought the rights to the NFL and NFLPA, they're the only ones that can make a football game with current teams and current players. So Visual Concepts (makers of the ESPN 2K football series) decided to go with football legends.

    Imaging playing with this team...

John Elway throwing to Jerry Rice and on defense you have Ronnie Lott roaming centerfield.

It would be fun but it doesnt have dynasty or anything so I kinda question the replay value. It would be a blast at first but after 3 weeks?

isn't any more stupid than releasing Madden 08 in 07 based on 06 statistics?

the details look great, but imo the actionshots look very stiff and unnaturaly. I fear, they put to much efford in grafik and details and forgot to animate the motion proper. Big Question is how good the gameplay is.

come on. you can't come to any conclusion on the motion animation from these screenshots.

it will be interesting to see if gamers who have become accustomed to playing with real teams take to playing fictional teams with real players. the original Tecmo Bowl may be the last game to do so succesfully, and that was on the NES. maybe 2k should have licensed the Tecmo Bowl name and made this game All Pro Tecmo Bowl 2k8 or something, and leveraged their game play with the nostalgia of the original Tecmo Bowl -- a game many of the players in this game actually were on. it may have worked.

i know what you mean, but that was my fist impression. and if you compare a madden 08 sreenshot to a all-pro football 2k8 football, imo madden screenshots look more like real football, while 2k8 looks a litte stiff and unnatural.

for a next gen konsole, this video imo looks pretty poor.

the point is the gameplay, if they come around with great gameplay, many (me included) won?t care that much about the grafik. if the gameplay isn?t much better than madden, 2k8 will flop.

The ACF East QB's could be:

Brad Penzington of the New York Bombers
Dom Braty of the New England Countrymen
PJ Hoffman of the Buffalo Chills
Brent Sheen of the Miami Sea Mammals

Also, is this game just gonna be all the old-time greats? Wouldn't that just be like a bunch of allstar teams playing eachother? That wouldn't be too fun.... You gotta have diversity in the talent level of the teams.

There will be diversity. Some of the players are Hall of Famers whereas others are guys who were nice, unsung type guys (such as Ronnie Bull).
    ___

Billy Sims and Dalton Hilliard in the game is really cool.
Curt Warner is in the game. For the folks who did not see him play, he was a great cutback runner like Curtis Martin. Very similar runners. Also wore the same jersey number.
Abner Haynes, Floyd Little, Ronnie Bull, Tony Canadeo, Ickey Woods are good choices.
I like Bill Curry being in the game.
Mike Golic is in there, as well.
    Rick Upchurch- good, too.

Brian Bosworth being in the game is interesting. He actually was a good player, but he got hurt too much.

This is a REAL football game.

Not a $$$ hungry machine that is full of BS .

2k Took the Throne w/ 2k5 and EA Got scared and bought the license.

Well you know what? 2k > Madden

There is stuff in 2k5 that EA still has yet to reach.

Yeah yeah, NFL logos blah blah. For me, it's the X's & o's and EA Has dropped the ball in that category every year since 98' especially on 360.

I may give Madden a shot but I am Definitely gettin 2k8 especially if it's like 2k5 with the online leagues, Live drafts, online newspaper headlines. If you played 2k5 you know what I'm talking about.
Every game played had it's own stats ONLINE! Shit was PHAT!

oh, and REAL custom sountrax not just picking a song to play in the BG, actual Track Editing so If you want welcome to the Jungle break to play as an intro and u2 for a 2 min warning with Metallica for your TD song it let you edit all of the songs!!!!

Just too much for EA to handle, they were too interested in setting up a benchpress....yawn....

    2k will rise!!

oh, and how the fk can you beat havin' Rakim as your frontman!???

    W00T don't sweat the techinique!

    Check the Vid!
