    Whoa...

    Bush
    Leinart
    Hawk
    M Williams
    Huff
    Ferguson
    Cutler
    Young
    Ngata
    Vernon Davis

10 studs in this draft plus countless other very, very good prospects. Wow.

And AJ Hawk is the best player in this draft. LBs don't go high usually... but he will be a top 5 pick especially with this frickin 4.38.

We must shop the pick to SF, Oak, or anyone else that would be interested in stealing Hawk from GB.

I don't usually put a lot of stock in the workouts, but that is an unbelievable time for a LB. Sure wish we could afford to take him.

Maybe we can. He's the best LB prospect since Lavar Arrington and is probably even better... and at 4 he would be a very good pick.

It's a 50/50 thing. Hawk is a much better overall player but Williams is in a more demanding position... If I'm GB I take Hawk just because he's an animal and he was always around the ball in college and will be with a 4.38 time in the pros.

I just can't see them drafting a defensive player at number 4, as talented as AJ Hawk is. Rebuilding teams will commonly forego the unwritten rule of BPA to draft for need, and LB does not measure up to half the positions on offense in the Need Department.

Yes I see where you're coming from... but if we can sign Shaffer and then address C or OG in the 2nd round we're set on the OL for now. With Chad restructuring and a signing of Kitna or trading for Ramsey likely I do not think we'll be interested in a QB. RB is the biggest possibility and Deangelo would be a good pick but Houston was good at the end of the year and a tandem of him and Martin should hold on for one more year with a healthy OL. TE- If we take Davis at 4 I'll scream. 9 I wouldn't mind WR- no one is worthy.

Besides RB and maybe D'Brick (who I don't want) there really isn't that many options in the first.

If Cutler is gone, I can VERY easilly see this regime taking Hawk at 4. It just isn't in the philosophy of the BP/BB theory of drafting to go O line that high. In terms of BAP, Hawk may actually be #1.... honest.

I have no doubt that Hawk is the best athlete and football player in this draft, but the impact a QB, an LT or a "Once-in-a-decade" RB, and some other positions have on the outcome of a game are much higher than that of an OLB.

I wish I could believe it, and I'll be happy as hell if it happens, I just don't think it will happen. Barton-Vilma-Hobson/unnamed ILB-Hawk would be a fun group of players to watch.

I still hope we can find a way to trade down to about the 7th pick. Maybe Oakland will trade up to try and steal Cutler or Hawk or Williams. Something like that would be amazing.

He ran a 4.46 at last year's OSU junior day, the fact that he ran well again this year isn't much of a surprise. I'd say that it's obviously a track that helps scores a bit; his true speed (number wise) is probably somewhere in the 4.5s, between this and his somewhat disappointing combine time.

As far as him vs Mario Williams, despite me being in agreement that he's probably the best LB prospect since Arrington, if I had to choose, it'd certainly be Mario Williams. He wasn't consistently dominant like Hawk, but in Williams you have something seriously special and unique. A 290 (+?) DE with excellent pass rushing skills/moves as well as more than enough talent to dominate against the run as well.

With so many outstanding prospects I would definitely trade down and take the BPA available offense or defense. I'd be happy with just about any one of those players listed at the 9 spot.

God I hate this time of year. I've changed my mind like 5 times on who to draft @#4

These pro days are absurd. These guys should all be made to do drills at the Combine, under uniform conditions.

I've been saying we should get Hawk from day one. His fourty is irrelevant. The guy is third best player in the draft.

I like Hawk, but we have to take D'Brickshaw Ferguson where we're at. If we have some inclination to trade down, then Hawk is definitely a possibility. I love the way he plays even though I hate Ohio State.
