That's the most I've ever seen Erik Ainge talk. To be honest I was kinda wondering what exactly went down with him. He just disappeared off the radar and we were told he was in drug treatment. At that time, it seemed to me like he just didn’t have his shit together. Good to hear his own words.

It sounds like his drug addiction was pretty bad. I wonder how it was never detected, and I wonder what exactly he was abusing. He mentioned pain killers at one point, but it would have to be more than that I’d think.

I think at this point his career is over. I’d be surprised if anyone takes a chance on him and signs him. He might be able to get a job on the practice squad somewhere. Hopefully he does some good in the world if he doesn’t make it in football.

So Ainge was probably fucked up during the preseason that everyone thought he was better than Clemens. Awesome.

He's just some douche who had everything handed to him until he hit the NFL, then realized he actually had to start working. Drug problems like these are completely self-inflicted, so he's getting no sympathy from me.

His head is too tiny for his body, also his head looks like it was drawn for a South Park episode.

    EDIT-

    Oh, and get better bro!

Maybe Ainge's are less/not deserving of sympathy, and I don't know what you mean by "like these," but there are often some really strong forces involved.
A lot of people would succumb to the pressures, too.

    from nbc:

Jets QB Erik Ainge, currently on the reserved/non-football illness list, recently disclosed that he was a "really bad drug addict," escalating from marijuana to prescription meds, alcohol, cocaine and even heroin.

"I would've made Charlie Sheen look like Miss Daisy," said Ainge. His drug abuse began with a bong hit at age 12. Ainge, who has also been diagnosed as bipolar, disappeared for a month in the spring of 2009 to attend a detox center. He ended up sitting out the 2010 season because he went on a "two-week bender" before training camp. Realizing he had hit rock bottom, Ainge checked himself into a rehab clinic last July and has been clean since. Ainge concedes that his football future remains "uncertain." We wouldn't bank on seeing him in a Jets uniform ever again.

Best of luck to him, but I don't think the Jets should even give him a chance in training camp this year. Its not worth keeping a player who has had a drug history and can be replaced easily. I much rather have a guy like Devlin as our 3rd string quarterback (yes, I'm bias as fcuk)

Guy's gonna have to hope uncle Danny can pull some strings for him for some entry-level position somewhere. I can't see him playing football ever again
