I really wish I could hear what he said, but nooooo we get stuck with seeing fucking ghost comments. Darnold is clearly pissed at Gase and Fales’s facial reaction makes it look like some wild stuff was said. Cmon where’s the hot mic when ya need it
I went from a fanatic to completely apathetic to this team. If Gase is back next year I won’t be. There’s no point.
If anyone can figure out what Sam said, it's Jomboy. We need to @ him on Twitter. Edit: I'm a pretty bad lip reader, so take this with a grain of salt. But here's what I think was said: Gase: "That's when you pass it, I told you that. Fuck me." Darnold: Says something to Gase but his helmet is blocking his lips. Then turns his back to Gase. Fales: Looks stunned by what Darnold said. Gase: "Sam!" Darnold: Turns toward Gase and exclaims something in response. Could be an expletive or maybe "Go away!" Then he and Gase exchange more words but not as heated.
You know damn well Sam said something out of frustration there. We're going to get the "it's been discussed and it's not a concern" from Gase tomorrow I'm sure.
This is why Sam kind of has no leg to stand on. By all accounts it sounds like he gushed over Adam Gase after Skyping with him and gave his blessing before the hiring. He’s also stood up for him during the season. His loyalty got the best of him. I admire the kid for trying to do what’s right and squash any controversy but I think now he’s realizing that it’s doing more harm than good.
That is the reason I hate Gase. The useless prick never takes blame. He makes bad calls all the time then says the players didn't do their end.. In thia case pointing at Sam who has been the only bright spot on our offense this year. His playing calling and personnel management are crap. And if they screw over Sam with this dogshit after next year Jets will be completely unwatchable.
Yup and I like Sam, hes doing the best he can but this all gets lost in the Gase hatred. Sam needs to take ownership and get Gase outta here.
Yeah it's tough to tell what he really feels. He also came out and said the offensive line played great yesterday. I appreciate the fact that as a quarterback you have to say things like that but he's pissed. He should be pissed. He's a losing quarterback for his career. The supporting cast is awful. Dropped touchdown by Robby Anderson and the wrong route by another receiver. Not to mention instant pressure all game long and the defense couldn't stop a nose bleed is the perfect storm for frustration for a 22 year old QB. If he sours on this coach, then Gase needs to go. I don't see much in the way of gameplanning issues yesterday or effort. The players are still playing. We had our chances.
So true. Remember those three games without him? The three games where they scored historically low points? And Gase made zero adjustments? We perseverate on one bad throw/ pick. Sam is a gamer, and we are wasting these years. Jackson would look like shit in this offense. Cousins was smart enough to know not to come here for an extra 14 million. He’d be throwing picks and getting killed by the fans and the media. It’s coaching, and until we find a Harbaugh or a Tomlin, we will suck.
