Chris Johnson said Gase was a genius. I would imagine since he's said nothing since he still believes in AG. If that's the case, they'll scapegoat Sam in order to keep Gase another year. Damn the fanbase, its all about ego and pride.
That's one possible outcome--another is he mitigates the fuckin disaster that he is by demonstrating he is personally hurt due to the confidence CJ put in him so that others are more likely to hire him in the future. This statement is all about Adam Gase and addresses none of the myriad of fuckups that have occurred throughout his miserable HC gigs..
I love the "Im trying to figure out where it went wrong" quote. We know where. Almost everybody knows where. It's the day he was hired. And although I'd love to rip the shit out of CJ for falling for the act... there were plenty of fans who fell for it too. How many people just on this site alone ran with the "he didn't have talent in Miami, everyone was always injured" routine? A lot of people fell for it, unfortunately one of them was the guy who makes the decisions.
He is being genuine. I see nothing wrong with this piece. Apparently Gase respects Chris and Chris respects Gase. Hopefully he will be gone on Black Monday though.
When someone says "I'm just trying to figure out where things went wrong", it means they have no clue...if they did, they wouldn't have to "try to figure things out". This is classic excuse-making for those who are in over their head - they don't even know the right questions to ask, let alone be able to understand the answers. I sure hope these are indicative that he's been told he's gone.
You can respect the person and not the product. I believe gase knows he's out already. I believe that neither party despise each other, and this has not gone the way each party wanted. Fresh start for everyone in 3 weeks time. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
Exactly. People talk. Next candidate might call Gase to get his insights on Chris/Woody. Better part ways with people with respect. Honestly, Johnsons always pick the wrong coach but they do respect their coaches. They aren't assholes in that front. They are two trust fund babies but at least they are decen human beings not like some other owners. Not that it matters but that's that.
If Gase truly believes he let ownership down, then he should return a significant amount of his salary. Easy to say anything when there is nothing to lose.
I'm no longer concerned about Gase returning next year. He probably knows he's a dead man walking at this point.
They may or may not be decent human beings....we can’t know that from where we sit however, regardless of that, they are clearly ignorant and incompetent when it comes to running a football team. That we CAN know...they’ve made bad hires every step of the way, and if JD pans out, he will be the first good GM they’ve hired. We’re still waiting on the first good coach.
