After he was named the cover player for Madden 07, he said that there would be improvements made towards the running game...does anyone else know what they are wroking on or what are some new features? The crowd has to become a factor in 07 IMO...composure should be a new rating. So if the crowd is going ape shit...a player with a low composure rating plays poorly. Or if a player with a high composure rating will not be affected...Peyton Manning would be one of the examples of having average composure even though he is an elite QB... The Franchise mode is still way too easy...I have tried so many different scenarios to make it more challenging, but when I won the superbowl with Brooks Bollinger I stopped playing it. Superstar was pretty good for only being used one year...I fully expect this to get better. The game in general is too easy...make it tough!
They also should add thing s such as gang tackling. The thing about madden that pisses me off is the little things they look over. How about have the refs bring out the chains to measure for a first down. use the espn license to have pre, half time, post game shows. Make the super bowl unique and an accomplishment in franchise. They have rights to songs why not have a halftime show with artist/ bands.
How about instead of all these fancy additions and new features, they work on the actual gameplay? The same issues that have been there for the past 5 or so years are still there. The O-line either blocks poorly (even with sliders adjusted) or doesn't block at all. The CBs still know and adjust to the route before the WR even makes his move. The tackling still employs a vortex that sucks the ball carrier in even if there should be no way that he gets tackled, or causes a QB to spike a ball into the ground that otherwise should have been thrown normally. You can still go out of bounds and be the first person to touch the ball. There is still no blocking on special teams. The WRs on offense and the DBs on defense, even when running forward, still drift backwards when the ball comes, leaving either the WR you're covering to catch the ball, or the DB you've beaten to make the pick. And probably the most frustrating, the ball STILL goes right through hands, arms, faces, etc., etc., when trying to defend a pass. The same goes for ball carriers. A diving tackler will usually go right through the runner without so much as a hesitation. Those are just some things off of the top of my head. Forget about new frills, fix the game.
I like the composure idea, I also would like to see some little things that don't have so much to do with gameplay such as: when its playoff time, put the NFL Playoffs signs on the field, It would also be cool if they had a "play of the game" after each game. As far as in game stuff, I think you should be able to return field goals if they're short and bring back the latteral
First thing, get rid of the stupid qb vision.. or make sure you can still turn it off and use the memory to do more for the blocking Next, allow for trading off future picks Contract renegotiations for slumping stars better options for building new stadiums (re-tractable roofs!)
-I think the running game certainly needed to be fixed so I am glad they are working on that. - I still think the crowd needs to become part of the game. It would make an actual homefield advantage. - Franchise mode is still too easy. - Gang tackling would be awfully nice. - The blocking is just atrocius...sacks are so easy to get, the return games are horrible and FG's are way too easy...I can kick 95% with any kicker... - The reason why the composure rating would be nice is because it would make big time plays (4th and long or Game winning FG's harder to make with the average player.
The composure thing would be great with kickers, like if you had a 50 yard field goal with 5 seconds left to win the game, Adam Viniateri would have a much better chance of making it than someone like Doug Brien.
They do that a bit by changing the angle and adding the "heartbeat" vibrations but they should have different accuracies based upon yardage. Brien would have very low accuracy for anything above 45 yards where as Vanderjagt would have a greater accuracy.
Wow someone who sees the light. What about the safety diving 5-6 yards(ive replayed and counted) and catching a running back or wr in full stride ? WHAT ABOUT THE D END RUNNING RIGHT PAST THE TACKLE, AND THE TACKLE DOESNT EVEN TRY TO SHOVE HIM. What about that invisible wall created this year ? You know he jukes, you hit stick at the same and you guys touch , he guys one way you go the other. Its sickening and what makes it worse they actually test these games, so they noticed all this shit.
