No Adalius Thomas...hopefully the Jets and this board can put him in our rearview mirror... Jets Notebook: Team may need new RB plan Thursday, March 01, 2007 BY DAVE HUTCHINSON Star-Ledger Staff The Jets aren't expected to pursue Ravens unrestricted free-agent LB Adalius Thomas, according to someone familiar with the team's thinking. Thomas will be one of the most sought-after free agents this off-season but the Jets are concerned about his age (29) and price tag. ...
I have a lot of faith in the Tangini regime. I'm sure they don't want to be foolish with money. They know what's best for this team to move forward.
BT=5 million per year, so to balance it out, a rookie contract is what we need at the other OLB spot.l
yeah and ty law was 22 when he came here and he played for the veteran minimum  and what about barlow? clearly past his prime and he still was one of our best paid players last season. this "article" sounds like bullshit to me
Well it wasn't this FO that signed Law and Barlow was a panic buy in the dying days of Training Camp, so a different economy altogether.
Law was signed by a different GM and came basically on a 1 year deal as everyone thought we were close to competing for a Championship until half our team go hurt. The situations aren't close to each other.
agreed 100%....if that article is true i'm glad...i didnt want us to pay Adalius all that money, which he is gonna command without a doubt
exactly right. it looks like the 49ers will land him, as they have a bunch of money to spend and the coaching connection with Thomas. furthermore, did anyone hear Sportscenter quote Thomas: "If not Baltimore, I wanna go somewhere warm." i don't see how it can be anywhere else other than San Fran. cheers
What do they have to do w/ anything? Only barlow came expensive(for a 4th rd pick). Ramsey was an insurance policy of Chad got hurt again and kimo was brought in as a defensive leader hoping he could help the D transition to the 3-4. We didn't brak the bank for any of these players.
again, good point. the aformentioned players, we signed and then cut a year later. Thomas would be a different situation altogether, because (a) we'd want him to start and be one of the leaders on D, and (b) with the money he'll command, there's no way we could cut him in a year like those other players. still think he's going to San Fran. oh well. cheers
I don't believe this "report" for a second. I don't think we'll get him- because I think San Fran is going to break the bank for him, but this report is lame; especially the age part- There's no way they are concerned about 29 years old. Tannenbaum isn't like our old GM who would announce to the world his plans every offseason. Remember last year... one week we'd get a report saying The Jets LOVE Leinart.. next week they LOVED Cutler... next week they LOVED D'Brick and hated Leinart and Cutler.. next report.. The Jets aren't lookin at D'Brick anymore... yadda yadda yadda these damn reports are ridiculous.
dude you're pathetic. if you're that smart you should better stay on topic. thomas is a free agent, you dont have to give up anything to get him. nobody cares what we gave up for barlow to get him. we're talking about money here. salary...
