That won't matter much if we lose 1 more game, especially if it's to the Bills or Phins or anyone for that matter in our Div./Conf.

    We win out....We get in.

I want us to do it on our own Merit.

    But nice to see

    That's head to head.
Once there is a 3 way or more tiebreaker, it changes.

TO BREAK A TIE FOR THE WILD-CARD TEAM
If it is necessary to break ties to determine the two Wild-Card clubs from each conference, the following steps will be taken.
    1. If the tied clubs are from the same division, apply division tie breaker.
    2. If the tied clubs are from different divisions, apply the following steps.

    Three or More Clubs
(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.)
    1. Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.
    2. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
    3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
    4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
    5. Strength of victory.
    6. Strength of schedule.
    7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
    8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
    9. Best net points in conference games.
    10. Best net points in all games.
    11. Best net touchdowns in all games.
    12. Coin toss

When the first Wild-Card team has been identified, the procedure is repeated to name the second Wild-Card, i.e., eliminate all but the highest-ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. In situations where three or more teams from the same division are involved in the procedure, the original seeding of the teams remains the same for subsequent applications of the tie breaker if the top-ranked team in that division qualifies for a Wild-Card berth.

    Jets currently #6 seed

    http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/playoffrace

When multiple teams have a tie breaker for a wildcard spot, the divisional tie breaker is applied first, eliminating Denver as KC has the better divisional record (3-1, to 3-2). Then Cinci leads with the best conference record at 5-3, followed by the jets are 5-4 for the 2 wildcard spots. Then KC and Denver trail behind.

While this is all great, remember, there is a lot of football to be played and it means nothing right now.

    WRONG.

There are scenarios in which we win out and we DO NOT get in.

What you ask? Denver and JAX also win out. All 3 of us at 11-5. Denver gets the 5th seed because they'd be 9-3 in conference. JAX/NYJ would be tied at 8-4. Since there would be 2 teams remaining, you rever to the H2H tiebreaker for 6th.. JAX goes, NYJ goes home.

See, the only thing keeping DEN out of the equation now is they are tied with KC and lose the tiebreaker. Because of that, Denver can't go (1 team per division), and KC is low on the tiebreaker scale (since they went 4-0 against the NFC).

Now is all this likely? NO, but don't say win out and in if it is not true.

i plan as being as giddy as i possibly can! Jets fans don't get the chance to be giddy all that much and when you have a chance enjoy it!!!! Next week is another game and another chance for us to win or lose but until that happens we are the best team in NY and in a great spot to make a playoff run - not bad for a team predicted to go 4-12.

We don't play the games we just get to cheer our team on -- hell have fun and enjoy the highs as much as you can because jets fans have had enough f'ing lows!
