Just how poor is this Oline , in my 30 years of watching the Jets its probably up there with the worst. Our centre and guard play is frankly atrocious and there seems to be zero blitz recognition or pick up along the whole line. Time after time , simple defensive line stunts are leaving unblocked blitzers as our clueless oline double blocks one player. Wesley Johnson should not see another snap as Centre , move Winters to Center and play Dozier. There has to be some accountability. For all the talk of selling the farm for a QB , I almost feel like we go Oline heavy in FA and in two of the first 3 rounds , for too long we looked back at our 2006 draft of Mangold and Brick , never ever looking to replicate it. Now its biting us hard. We cannot run consistently as we get zero push , forcing us into obvious passing downs where good defenses are teeing off on our Oline. McCown on several times this year has amazingly avoided getting crushed ... one play too many and he is done. 2018 FA / Draft must be LG / Centre and RT ( We cannot dump Winters because of his contract ..)
But true salvation only lies in that franchise QB drafted with that #1 overall pick. You heard it here first.
