If we get Turner it would be horrible to take Leonard, then we would need a pure FB that we can get in the 6th or 7th round

Thats what i initially thought myself, but I don't think that is the direction the Jets will go anymore. I really see us using more of an H-Back like we have used Ryan this season. When we need a pure blocker, Pociask is more than capable or an extra O-lineman can be used in goal-line situations.

Why do we need a pure fb? I mean look at what the saints did with two rb's this year. I am not saying by any means the Leonard is in the same class as bush. But leonard could bring the intangibles that bush did to the saints. Meaning lineing up in mutiple packages and positions.
I would honestly be thrilled if we got Turner and Leonard. Talk about revamping our running game.

While we do need a running back, I think that Turner has less upside than a draft choice would have. Also, we need our first two picks to fix our OL and to get a pass rusher.

I do agree with you that San Diego will want AT LEAST our first second rounder for Turner so you do get points for realism.

Brian Leonard only makes sense if you draft him to share time at RB with Leon Wshington. We have too many needs to get Turner at RB and to get Brian Leonard who will mostly fill the role of a power back rather than that of a FB. Also, a pure FB (which Leonard isn't) would be a huge reach here anyway.

I could live with the Carricker pick in round two (Washington's pick) but in round one there is just too much talent available at other spots (OL, Pass rush, WR, TE, etc.).

Also, 31 other teams will be looking for free agent help at CB. We might be better off just drafting one (instead of a fullback).

Why is everyone in love w/ Brian Leonard? Using a 2nd rounder on him would be a waste with the needs we have on this team

I really believe the Jets are going to push hard for Terrel Sands the DT from OAKland.

Many mock drafts have us taking a LB. The question is if we add a starting liebacker, which of our current starters is the odd man out? My point is that Barton is a keeper.

Because since we already acquired a RB, the use for Leonard is limited, and we could use that pick better elsewhere. I like Leonard, but with Turner and Washington already getting carries, it doesn't make too much sense to use a 2nd rounder on a guy that may get a few catches, but will mainly be a FB

I like Leonard, but IMO you can't justify using a day one pick on him if you are also adding a RB such as Michael Turner.

Too many ex-Pats, plus Samuel is overrated

That is realistic. It's nice to see mock offseasons like this one.

I like the Dielman, Banta Cain and Samuel signings. I'm not crazy over the Graham signing, mainly because I like Chris Baker. Maybe we could go with a lower end TE or a draft pick?

We might as well keep Barton around. Let Banta Cain be a situational pass rushing OLB and Hobson the primary OLB.

We might as well keep Ramsey around. We need at least one experienced QB.

I'm not too crazy with Brian Leonard and I'd prefer a bigger more physical WR than Breaston.

I really like every other pick/use of draft pick though.

Let Clement play RT, not LT.

I think Barrett goes and Poteat stays. Just a hunch.

Thanks for the realistic mock draft/offseason. It was nice to read one.
