Of all the 32 teams in the NFL, only 17 have won a Super Bowl.....and we're one of them! Not the Bills...not the Vikings...not the Bengals...not the Chargers...not the Eagles....and NOT 10 OTHER TEAMS. Doesn't matter how many years it's been, Gang Greenies...our franchise will ALWAYS be a Super Bowl champion. And not only that, but OURS was the greatest, most talked about, most influencial of 'em all.
I have never been one of those people who is upset that the Jets haven't won since SB III. It's not an east thing to do and only one team wins it every year.
Yeah thats great and everything. But being a Jets fan who is 22 years old I have never seen the Jets in or win a superbowl. I take not satisfaction in the Superbowl 3 victory because I wasnt around for it.
What about the people who are in their 30's and have been watching even longer than us and still haven't been around for a super bowl?
Yea, and the Cubs have won a world series....back in 1908. With each passing year we look worse and worse organizationally. Must bring home the prize again soon (or within 5 years after we dig out from under the "Brad-wards" regime mess)
As NYJets317 pretty much said, I'm thrilled to know that we've won a SB in spectacular fashion but I've never seen one and I really want to see my team at the top.
I just hope I'll be able to witness a Jets' Superbowl victory in my lifetime. I'm 20 now, so I figure the Jets have about 40 years to get it done. Hopefully, I'll even have a decade left to gloat to my Patsy friends.
75 and waiting for another one. But not with bated breath (too hard to do now!). I promised my wife and son we'd be there no matter when. Just may have to include my granddaughter too....as she's a 3 year old fan. And I'd love it.
Let me ask you something, when you were 38 and we won did you ever think we would have to wait this long for another one??? I'm 40 and while SBIII was awesome to watch (on tape), I still would kill to see us win the big one again. And I'm with you, I'll be there when it does happen
Yes but that was before the so called modern era began when it was AFL vs NFL which I am sure you remember just like the next years KC won the last AFL vs NFL SB. Somehow due to the format we won in the media does not play it as much as say 5 Boys win in the merged era or 5 Niner wins in the merged era or 5 Steeler wins in the merged era
Well I am 66 & certainly I thought we would repeat the next year. Then Midas Hess began his cost cutting moves not to pay the players & the rest is history. Then you have a new owner & he hires the Herm & now you know why we have not won a SB in 38 years
Wear your seatbelt when you drive, don't drink too much from the bottle, look both ways before you cross the street. Try and make sure you are going to be around for a while, just in case it takes longer than your lifetime to see it. :grin: I'm looking forward to seeing them win one too!
