So I too have been upset by the recent play of the jets. Its been eating at me the past three weeks. crushing me. Even yesterday was , as tom jackson called it on the blitz "uncomfortable". But, i have solved the problem in terms of how i feel about this team. I have simply turned off the mentality i had after tenn. and resorted back to the old ways. Now, i dont see it as a powerhouse team playing poorly at a pathetic 9-5, rather the lovable devastating team with no expectations having a crazy season, at 9-5 tied for the div. lead. It really makes yesterday seem awesome. instead of - oh god we could barely beat the bills, its shit! we made it through that one too.. wow were 9-5. In simple terms its the glass half full. how do you get there? pretend its just another one of the early 2000 teams, bumbling its way along, tied for the division lead, 2 games to go, final game against our original hated nemesis. IT shifts the whole perspective. J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS

true, thats the way you have to look it at I suppose. As much as it wouldve been nice to beat buffalos ass no contest, that was one of the best football games I've seen probably in my entire life, its up there. What a game, thats why we suffer as jet fans instead of prosper as giants fans, the jets can be an exciting football team.

The TCs take is pretty much my take at this point. But I was never on the superbowl express either.

It's all perspective. Six weeks ago beating the Bills was a huge step, at the beginning of the year beating the Dolphins figured to be a given. Losing to Oakland and beating Tennessee, who knows? If anyone told us we'd have a shot to win our last two games and take the division, have it all in our own hands, we'd have been happy. If you freeze frame everything at its highest point to date, 8-3, then it's going to seem like a letdown. Truth is we're somewhere in between the past three weeks and the previous five, as is most of the league.

I think 90% of the people on this board could use some Zanex so they can relax a little... they have gone to the point where there are over 30 threads about how the Jets suck, and the people there are so on edge that they viciously attack posters will different viewpoints with names and accusations instead of football knowledge. I haven't even been reading the threads of the constant basis I usually do because these threads are getting so out of control.

Pace sucks, Favre trade was no good, Rhodes sucks (he is having a down year, he his presence is good back there), it's getting way out of control.. I think some Jet fans should really need to relax we are all cheering for the same team here!

I don't see how anyone can be in a bad mood right now.

More often than not, right now this team is out of the playoffs barring the freak occurrence that happened in yesterdays game.

It's nice to wake up in the morning and still be able to look forward to next weeks game.

As a long-time Jet fan I cannot shake the tendency to fear the worst when it comes to this team - even when times are good. I just don't trust the Jets to not choke in the end.

Am I happy that we won yesterday and are still in control of our own P/O destiny??...YES! Do I think that we'll find a way to F it up somehow?....YES!

The crazy thing is sometimes I prefer it when the Jets really do suck (i.e. 1-15, 4-12, etc.). At least that way I'm never emotionally invested in the outcome of their games and I can always look forward to the hope of a blue chip draft prospect + a new, improved coaching staff. Of course neither of those 2 things ever happens, so......
