I'd never thought that I'd be one of these people.... but this is my 1,000 post. yay for me.

I guess I should say something about the Jets now.... if the Jets trade to #2 to take Cutler, I will lose my mind. I have a flashback of the draft... I believe it was 3 years ago... I was at ESPN Zone in the city, where everything went down. The Bears had just drafted Rex Grossman with their first round pick. I believe it was 12th overall, and me and my friends stared at this Bears fan, who as Rex was announced, proceeded to put his head down in shame and shake his head repededly, as if they just drafted John Dillion from the Cicago pop warner team. It was priceless. I really don't want those roles reversed if the Jets announce "in the second (fourth) overall pick in the 2006 NFL draft, the New York Jets select Cutler".

Anyways... 1,000 posts. I'll be awaiting my tee shirt and Jets mug in the mail:lol:

congrats and i feel the same way of what you posted about cutler. Id rather take a QB in later rounds and sign a free agent QB or trade for one.

If we draft Cutler I will feel shame, well not alot of shame but the kind that lasts for a little while. I think Croyle in the 2nd or early 3rd would be a much smarter pick

The only reason I wrote this was to find out how many posts I have.

i agree with the part on Cutler but i tihnk if we are serious about getting a franchise qb we need to stay in the first round and trade into the top 3 for leinart or young.

When tyour looking for a franchise quarterback you dont just take what you can get, we need to get the best qb in the draft (or 2nd best)

As Winston once said to me quite a while ago in the now destroyed TGG database, "Don't underestimate the value of a good whore."

I don't want Cutler at #2, #4, #9, #85 or any pick. This board seems split on the guy but for some reason EVERY draft guru has extreme man love for him. Why? Even as of late on the NFL network Corey Chaveous and Mike Mayock picked him as the better of the top 3. I just don't get it. And yes, I probably spelled both their names wrong.

CS, I am not bonkers for Cutler, but he does have a lot of promising attributes. He has a very strong arm, decent mobility, good head, good size......... The only question that arises is that he only played for Vandy; not a very strong conference.

I think what has to be taken into account here is that in college you go to the school because because that is what is afforded to you as a young athlete who wants a scholarship education. With that said, irrespective of the program, players develop physically and mentally during that time. One can not put a stereotype on a player just because of the school/conference he attended. All of the players attributes must be taken into consideration.

Even Reggie Bush could bust - if so, probably from injury; it is always the chance you take. I would not mind Cutler here. I like him over some of the other options.

    Congrats on your posting number.

As for Cutler, who cares, its time at least we get some excitement back to this franchise.........we need to pump some life into this team.....I'll take Cutler or Young, but would rather D'Brick or AJ Hawk.
