So I play a lot of Madden over the years, I have gotten to the point where I don't even play the games any more. I have the PC simulate all my games. I get satisfaction from putting together the best team within the salary cap, and chasing the dream of winning the Super Bowl! Well, I've been playing franchise mode with the Jets of course and here is what unfolded. Eric Mangini's team was doing a great job challenging each year for the first nine years!! we didn't win the SB, so I had to let him go. Well, that's the spark he needed, because in went to Seatle and won 2 of the next 3 SB. I got pissed off since I didn't win it those 3 yrs either, so I brought Mangini back to the Jets. We lost the conference title to the Steelers 4 yrs in a row, once we finally got over that hump, we ended up loosing the SB 5 times, 4 in a row to a Bears team that went undefeated regularly. After the 5th SB loss, I was shocked when I saw the graphic "Eric Mangini has retired from the Jets" He was quoted as saying the following "How many did we lose?.. really?.. that many" He walks away from the team with a career record of about 68% and a playoff record of something like 24-14 and 1 non winning season (8-8) in like 20 yrs!! Of course as owner of this proud franchise, I will press on in this pursuit without Eric Mangini. Do you guys kill as much time as I do playing franchise mode? or do you actually play the games?
I can't play single player at all anymore, if I do, I do it like you, and sim everything. Do you actually play it for the PC? If so, I could arrange for a little butt whooping.
No... by PC I meant XBOX, and I don't have the online subscription. I grew up playing my cousin, and as we got older and busier, I started playing against the console, and now I just do the GM think with franchise mode.
no since maddens sucha shorter game, i play everything all 16 games. plus the playoffs. but 07 didnt live up to 06 so im hopin 08 will be much better
and then I took a yr off.... and lost another one!! You cannot imagine the huge let down it is to see that final score that last time. I almost got a sense of what Bills fans went through. I should also mention that my team totally outplayed their opponents that last time, were it not for the 5 turn overs!!
I am too anxious for the off season to play the games. I want to get back to the wheeling and dealing!! as fast as possible. I agree that 06 was better, if not for the current rosters, 07 is not as much fun
I played a ton when I was in school....online all the time on PS2....but Madden 07 sucked for PS3 and I can't bring myself to play the PS2 version now that I have a PS3 so I guess I will wait until August and hope this year's version is better...
I 've never tried those PS's I have the original XBOX console, the thing weighs a ton! Since last wk, I 've had to unplug it to turn it off and plug it in to turn it on. I think the pwr switch died. I am playing this thing into the ground before I get anything else.
no worries... I'd be worried about me too if I were a single guy. The hours just blow by when you get into franchise mode
the inevitable has happened!! MY Xbox is dead!! Now when I plug it in, it just flashes a green to orange light in the power button, and never loads the games!! I am not even going to look into fixing it. I think it has served well, and should die with dignity...... I went to Costco and browsed the new Xbox360 offerrings.. Got to find a way to broach the subject with the wife. We were shopping for an Ipod for her birthday in a couple weeks.
Ill try my questions here first. I just got madden 07 haven't had madden since 05 but needed sumthin new for getting my wisdom teeth out so I got 07 cheap. These are all questions that have to do with franchise mode. When do you get to sign new coaches in the offseason I went through a whole offseason and never saw where to do it? Not really all that important but where do you customize the jerseys now? Where did the ability to go into practice mode with your franchise mode go si there a way to export your franchise roster then pull it up in the regular practice mode? How do you get to a substitutions type page like to put a certain player in a certain part of the play? Is the only way to have your players progress to do the pregame training stuff? Anyone else find thats its way harder to run the ball in 07? Thanks Madden sure has changed alot since I played.

I don't think you can do it, other than using packages at the play calling screen. Is the only way to have your players progress to do the pregame training stuff? No, players progress over the season, but some positions such as OL progress faster than others. Anyone else find thats its way harder to run the ball in 07? No, not really, although I find it easier to run with a speed back such as Leon Washington than a powerback So all in all Madden '07 sucked for the 360, but the good news is that all the features are going to be back in '08.
id have to say i am a franchise mode kinda guy...so 07 was dissappointing as far as gameplay goes...i am looking forward to the addition of gang tackling that was a terrible flaw for too many years i really wish they could focus on the franchise portion a bit more b/c i love the offseason like most, but it could be made so much better just a few things that bother me -i wish the computer would make more trade offers...even if they are bad -the re-signing/signing process would be more indepth..actual negotiations -you could talk players out of retirement(on any team)...or into it -the entire restricted free agent process should be redone -realistic injury reports...nagging injuries and such -more detail to the holdouts...trade seeking/etc -make the draft better...a day 1/ day 2...a lot could be done with the draft just a few off the top of my head, but i guess nothing beats the real thing the offseason has basically been the same for so long...it would be nice if they added a few new things each year...instead of just gameplay upgrades
