Ok, So can someone please tell me why the hell we are not releasing Kellen Clemens and securing up a better back up plan with someone like Chad, or the guy I want Jake Delhomme?? Release Kellen, Sign Delhomme, Carolina is already paying him, give him a shitty deal he will accept anything at this point

WTF? Jake Delhomme? Are you serious? I'd much rather have KC than Delhomme or (as much as I love him, but still a) one-hit-wonder Chad. KC is a better option that both QBs u mentioned. Not sure how Chad would be after his 3rd surgery anyways.

Delhomme atleast has some experience behind center, not to mention playoff and SB experience. KC doesn't even have a full season under his belt. I know Delhomme has been a disaster sine the ARZ playoff loss at home, but come on really KC over them 2 guys??

We're not releasing KC because we're going to get a Day 3 pick for him. Just wait. We're not signing a new QB because we'd still have 3 on the roster at that point. Oh, and Chad is staying in Miami.

KC is underrated IMO. I think he's a decent 'backup'. We can easily trade him for a 3rd day pick, so why lose him for nothing? He won't trip over yard lines every game and being a QB, he wouldn't over/underthrow his WRs by miles as he did last year. That's just rust. He can be an ok backup QB in a run first offense like ours.

Sadly, Chad has joined forces with the dark side. He's not leaving Miami.

I'd stick with KC or Ainge. Why? Well, they both know the offense and the players around them. Delhomme is done, he has experience, but he decided that throwing the ball with his eyes closed is the way to do it. Moore took that same offense (minus Williams) and did 10X what Delhomme was able too.

Chad is recovering from a 3rd shoulder injury and he doesn't want to be here...he's already negotiating a deal with the fins. Delhomme is a broken man, and there aren't a whole lot of other proven vets on the market and a lot of demand.. so someone might bite on KC. He's young and he isn't paid much so there no reason to cut him - certainly not before we sign someone else.

I'm actually not totally against Delhomme as a backup. Not sure he is a broken man, either, but he's been knocked down some pegs for sure. But those are the types of QBs you see taking backup jobs in the past.

The guy has experience as a starter for half a decade, has Super Bowl experience, and I think would be a far better help on the sideline than a guy like Clemens would be. And if the unthinkable happened and Sanchez got hurt, he'd be a far better option to try to maintain the status quo than Clemens would be, until MS got back under center.

Yeah, that was poorly phrased on my part. I think he's reached a point where he'll never regain his old form but I do think he would be a good backup The major caveat is he's probably getting a lot of offers. Seems like a genuinely good character too, who wouldn't "rock the boat", as he put it.

I thought Pennington is now asking for a no-trade clause which puts his "staying in Miami" all up in the air.

Jack Delhomme is not signing anywhere where he atleast can compete for a starting job. With Sanchez as the Franchise QB Delhomme would never sign with the Jets.

Yes, Delhomme would be a definite upgrade as a backup over Clemens.

It's true that starting with the 2008 divisional playoffs Delhomme has played like a drunk pulled from the stands but Clemens always looks like a drunk pulled from the stands. At least the former has experience and was successful for quite some time.

It makes some sense that the 49ers, Bills, and Cardinals could have interest in Delhomme. After that, I don't know who else would be interested in him as a starting quarterback. Maybe Delhomme will very soon find out that he's going to have to deal with the fact that his starting days are over.

If Mark Brunell retires, maybe Delhomme would go back to New Orleans.

I'd much rather cut Clemens and draft a QB in the later rounds.

What's wrong with Ainge? If we're going to have a young gun on the roster it might at well be him. Then either sign a vet or keep Clemens or O'Connell. Drafting a QB -even in the later rounds - would be a waste when we've already got potential on the roster.

I would not mind going into the season with Ainge as the #2. At this rate, he will probably win the job over Clemens in camp, anyway.

I say keep the QBs we have and if the unthinkable happens call Garcia at home.

I dont know dude i rather have Delhomme as a backup mentoring sanchez with his superbowl exp. and years in the league then Kellen clemens a guy who fumbles more then he completes passes. Not like where asking Delhomme to start just mentor a young QB.

All I know is that I doubt we need to carry 4 QBs.

I have a feeling that Ainge is going to have a very very good TC and actually push Sanchez very hard.
