Today's unforgivable loss was likely the nail in the coffin in a "season that could have been". With an early lead, the number one dfense to hold it, and the number one rushing to milk the clock, the jets "somehow"(we all knew it was coming) found a way to lose. This loss symbolizes the whole season, with woulda coulda shoulda lossess every other week. This season is a fitting way to end a decade that saw a red hot team fizzle in the playoffs, a kicker punch the collective fan base in the throat when the sky was the limit, and a sure-fire division championship end without even a playoff birth. From overly conservative paul hacket to the overly dramatic brian schottenheimer, OC's have found ways for us to lose time and time again. Alas Heres to hopping a new stadium, a new team, a new decade, will, for once, bring some good times...
for the millionth fucking time, it was not our year to win the superbowl or even make the playoffs. rookie hc, rookie qb, and we would have to beat the colts and bengals.
well to to start the decade, this game reminds of the 00 game vs the Lions. The JETS find a way to ruin another Christmas. Hal-e-freakin-leuyaaaaaaaaaa :shit:
The only good thing is the fact in England I can bet In PLay on games. Don't like betting against the Jets but the longer it went on at 7-3, the more I knew we were going to lose. No real joy in winning the bet, but money's money and sometime you just gotta take the cash when it's staring at you.
I feel bad for Revis...since this season will probably go down as the best of his career and we wasted it by not even making the playoffs. By the time the offense comes around, our defense will have gone to sh*t...and so the cycle will continue.
Here's how you tell the difference between the long-term Jets fans and the guys who have been doing this less than 15 years or so: The younger guys are banging their heads against the wall this evening with a plaintive cry of "WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY?" echoing in the room around them. The older guys just said "Same Old Jets" once after the loss and are now moving around and doing other things.
sort of....... for whatever reason it's starting to bother me MORE now? Maybe since my uncle passed a few years ago (a great man that had season tix for decades) or it's that I know I have limited free time , yet still commit my Sundays to the JETS (turning down offshore fishing trips, missing good surf, pissing off my girlfriend, etc).......... IT'S PISSING ME OFF. WHY THE F- DO I CARE SO MUCH?!?!?! They'll probably beat the Colts next week for naught too......... :shit:
Id say its a given. they will likely destroy the colts, in a game rendered meaningless due to our expected shortcomings
True enough. I haven't broken any furniture this year. BUT, what I do find aggravating about 2009 is that this is a year when we could have slipped into a division title and did ourselves no favors. I'm not going to get all pissy about missing the wildcard. I'll get a little pissy that, but for a string of losses, we could be playing to the division. This is one of those seasons where it didn't take 13-14 wins to compete for the division.
hopefully it will be the same next year. the patriots have seemed to be trending down this whole year. their offense was anemic today.
This season wasn't meant to be anything spectacular, sitting at 7-7 with so many games lost that could have easily been won, with all these factors against us, like a rookie QB and HC, we should be happy and excited for the future. I will say though, if we somehow beat Indy next week, which I have a feeling may happen, this game will really really piss me off.
