1...Tenn....Lienart 2...N.O......Bush 3...Tex......Fergusen 4...Oak.....Young 5...G.B.....Hawk 6...Jets....Cutler I like the sound of this, the only problem is do you take young at 4 or not
Why would NO want Bush when the only good young player they have is Deuce? And why would we trade out of a position to take Vince Young? Vince Young > Jay Cutler
P.S. (that's not to say I think Vince is the most amazing QB prospect ever, I'm just saying he is less overrate then Jay Cutler. At least Vince Young knows how to win)
Raiders aren't trading up for a QB . Most likely if they move up its for De Mario williams. Raiders love Andrew Walter 6'6 235 (last years draft choice) Who has one year of experience in the NFl. Raiders will be bringing in a veteran QB to compete with walter for starting job.
Oh you mean someone who knows how to win? Or someone who can be a major player in this league? Or is it someone who can bring some respect to our franchise (not to mention revenues) And what does Jay Cutler = ?
Vince Young is 23-1 in his last 2 seasons and single-handedly beat Michigan and USC in 2 consecutive Rose Bowls... I think we'd be fools to assume that he's going to be a losing QB because of this. Cutler on the other hand has won absolutely nothing and he has never even been to a bowl game... I understand that the SEC is tougher then the Big 12 but there isn't that big of a difference. Vince Young has proven that he can be a winning QB, Cutler hasn't. If anything, right now Cutler = Vick.
I totally agree with you. I don't understand why people still think Cutler has more upside or whatever than the QBs who won the last two National Championships. These QBs have shown repeatedly that they know how to win. Cutler has proven that he can flash but can he carry a team? Nope. I guarantee that if Leinart or Young were on Vanderbilt, they would have won more games than Cutler did.
The problem is that Young does it with his legs . In the NFL hes not going to be able to run like he did @ Tex.Also his delivery is not very NFL friendly (he throws side armed) he will alot of passes batted down.Anyway you look at it Young is a big risk Cutler is also a risk, but he has all the tools that NFL scouts look for. Now I wont lie to you and say that I've seen Cutler play tons of games . I get most of my info from sirus NFL channles. When I hear the like of Chris Carter ,Pat Kirwan,John Riggins,Solemen Wilcocks, and Shannon Sharp all praising Cutler as the next NFL gunslinger(ala Brett Favre) I'll take thier words for it.
What was Dorsey record at Miami. Just because a QB put up great numbers in college,( alot of times competition wasn't close) Means its going to translate to Progame. CUtler didn't have half the talent Leinart and Young had to work with. Only time will tell which qb is better, and no one will care what he did in college but judge him on what he dose in Pro game.
The difference was Vince Young and Matt Leinart were looked at as the superstars on their team, while Dorsey was not and he was a mediocre college QB. He also played on the best team in NCAA history in 2001 (i believed there was a week this season where 18 of their players were starting in the NFL... including Vilma, Morgan, etc). Dorsey was a mid-round pick because he didn't have the passing skills... but Matt Leinart has an extremely accurate arm and I look at as a poor man's Joe Montana... while Young is an explosive runner and has a very strong arm... and his only problem is that his throwing mechanics are poor.
Dude, I'm sorry, but you are ridiculous. Vince Young had almost identical passing stats as Cutler but with an extra 1000 yards on the ground. Vince Young is 6'5'' and throws over linemen, it doesn't matter where his release point is. How is Cutler more prepared for the NFL? What tools does he have that Young does not? And how is Young any more of a risk than Jay Cutler is? If anything Cutler is more unknown because he had shitty results playing for a shitty team with hardly any coverage. Young got coverage and produced in the biggest games against the biggest competition.
Last time I checked most O Linemen are 6'5 and over, so are most D linemen. If hes 6'5 and throws side armed hes throwing right into thier backs ,unless your team has an OL that averages 5'9. I dont believe I ever said that I think Cutler is more prepared for the NFL the young,I said the scouts love Cutler and I also dont believe I ever siad that young is more of a risk then Cutler.I said they're both risks. Which is why I decieded we should trade down and take Cutler @ 6
