You guys are making it very hard on trolls, because its hard to bang on your team when you are doing such a fine job withoiut any help from the outside. Anything more would be tantamount to kicking someone when they are down, And while I Hate your team, the loudmouth players, the callous owner, and blowhard coach,, I respect the loyalty of the fans, because as a lonnnnnnnng time Pats fan, I can respect fans who root hard and have very little to show for it. So no I told you so's. Just a couple of questions out of curitosity. 1. Coples - Did he get more action this week. What did you think of his performance. 2. D Williams - one of my draft binkies, and with Fletcher out on IR and Hightower out with a Hammy, he'd look good as the 3rd down LB right now. Is he getting any run. I would have thought he'd be used in most of the passing packages by now 3. Where is DuCasse right now. There was a point where it seemed like he was on the verge of startjng at G. He was another draft binkie when he came out (and another example on why I'm not on BB's speed dial in April) 4. fter 4 games, how are you feeling about Bell and Landry as a afety pairing Still as happy as before, or has the shine worn off? 5. Finally, I'm curious to know why Jet fans think they have fallen off the cliff so much on run defense. Its frankly hard to figure. I think the world of Wilkerson, Pouha is more than solid and so is Devito. I heard nothing but good things about Ellis in TC and of course Couples is a high number #1 pick Historically stopping the run has been a Jets strong point. Hard to see you guys at #31st in that stat right now.
Question 4 on Safety play. It is a hell of alot better than last year and they did a great job containing Vernon Davis. Its deff a Positive in a season full of Negatives right now.
1. Hopefully Coples will continue to see more playing time. I believe he played the most snaps he's played all year against San Fran and made a couple of nice plays against the run. 2. Are you talking about DeMario Davis? 3. He's been splitting time with Slauson at LG. Both are terrible. 4. The safety play is much improved with them back their. 5. Pouha was one of the top run stuffing nose tackles in the league the last 3 seasons. It's amazing how bad him and DeVito have been this year. Big Mo isnt playing bad.
yes D Davis is who I was thinking of......and a binkie is a draft favorite you want your team to take.
The safety play is CLEARLY the best thing we can look at as Jet fans right now. Of course, theyre old and injury prone and have no future with the team
lets be honest... the opening paragraph is an attempt to rub our noses in it and you really just want to make us angry under the guise of an info request.
In a disturbing way, this defense is beginning to remind me of the bad Ted Cottrell defenses we had a few years back.
"one of my draft binkies"? Not that we really needed further affirmation that Patriots fans typically like to put their favorite athletes in their mouths and slobber all over them.
1. Coples played very well. 2. There is some depth at LB, but the entire unit is very average. Davis will probably see more and more playing time as the season wares on. 3. Ducasse is eventually going to start. Slauson is getting no push in the run game and he is horrible on the pulls. 4. The safety play has been great. I can't say enough about it. 5. They have fallen off due to poor LB play and bad tackling. Wilkerson has looked like a monster in the run game.
I uderstand, and I'm sure most of us Jets fans have a mutual respect factor for Pats fans. Even though your QB is the biggest cry baby for a penalty on anything he can get, your coach is a stoic leader of an espionage circut, and didn't your owner have a scene in a porno where he was screaming vulgar obscenities? 1. Coples looks like we expected 2. As stated Davis is depth 3. the O-line looks "ok" with or without Vlad in the lineup 4. Yes, the safety play is very much so improved 5. Pouha and everyone else on the front line is to blame for this. But most of all Tanny is to blame. Our biggest problem currently is tackling, period. Yesterday that game would have been a different story if for nothing else but just tackling. Which we've always been pretty solid at, but this is the worst tackling I've seen under Rex. As always, since the day that John Abraham left and in the years to follow we have ZERO pass rushing ability without some kind of crazy exotic blitz that takes like 6-7 guys in the box and leaves us exposed and is usualy exploited.
Is it true welker was demoted for calling brady a metrosexual? Everyone is blaming is bellicheck, but I heard Brady's panties got twisted.
as i said from day 1, he is going to be an enormous bust. guys who dont care just dont cut it in this league. i dont get it either. but im not at practice. must be something he isnt showing because harris is playing terrible football right now when was he ever looking like a starter at gaurd? he is a complete turnstyle. i can see the value of having himin a jumbo package, but he is pretty awful the lone bright spot of the season. might be the best tandem ive seen as a jets fan its not the line, its the linebackers... although pouha is old and might just be on a decline. couples just doesnt care, and doesnt play much anyhow. big issues is harris and pace. they are 2 or 3 steps to slow right now.
I'll bet this was a a joke but. Bob Kraft was married to the same woman for many years, loved her very much until she died after a terrible illness. He found out that as a moderately good looking old guy with LOTS of money he could attract really good looking younger women. And I say "More Power To Him!!!!" He's done a lot for the NFL.
Kraft is one of the reasons that you have a season this year. And if you think the Goodell would have let this season start without any disruption, just look at what he was willing to try with replacement refs.
the placement on run D is solely on tackling,IMO. I don't think we have any trouble getting a guy there, but i have never seen such bad tackling
