Not being a dark sider here, but lets assume for a moment the Chiefs beat us on Sunday. Where does Mangini go with this team? Would it be a foregone conclusion that the season would be over at 3-6 , assuming again we lose to Buffalo the following week and St.Louis the week after? (St.Louis may be coming around after wins over the Skins and Cowboys) At that point does Mangini take the keys from Brett and hand them over to Kellen or Ratliff? If so, what are the ramifications of that?
if we lose to the chiefs i will be the first to start the fire the entire coaching staff thread next week.
If we lose on Sunday,Mangini should be fired on the sideline as the clock runs out. As for the question. IMO Favre will start every game unless he is injured regardless of the record.
First of all, Mangini's never going to look at any season in this way, nor should he or any other coach, for that matter. If Coughlin had taken that attitude, Eli would have been replaced last year. I don't think any coach figures on "foregone conclusions" that a season is "over." There's always the possibility that something comes together and the team starts executing and stops making the plays that cause them to lose. In our case, the O-line needs to man up. That would lead to a more confident and protected Favre which would lead to more TDs and less INTs. We also have to stop with all the penalties. Special Teams needs to get it together. If all three of those things find a way to fix themselves in short order, there are 10 more games out there that, mathematically, we could win. The possibility still exists (slim... yes) that we could wind up 16-3. So you're not going to find any coach who goes with "foregone conclusions" and thinks the season is "over" if he's less than .500.
The Choice was made to go for Farve and a Chance to catch Lightning in a bottle and win it all so he has to play this out till the bitter end. The Keys should have been handed over in Training camp but since they were not it is Farve till the end. Don't worry we should be back on track around 2011-2012 if Farve does not work out.
I hope Favre stays at the helm for the rest of the season, nomatter what happens, even if the season is over and benching him would mean we only give up a 4th instead of a 3rd ant it would be a good Idea to give one of the young gys some plyingtime, but I just enjoy watching Favre and this Offense, when they get rolling so much, It?s worth it. And benching him would mean, that he definitly retires, and I would love to see him come back for another year, with a real preseason.
no we wont. mangini should be fired after this year right? so that gives the next coach 3 years and then it will be time to have him be fired. im starting to get how this darksider thing works... its really fun.
"paper or plastic?" Because if they lose to KC now, bagging groceries is obviously all he's qualified to be doing.
If we lose to KC the entire team should be fired! I will also officially stop watching football and go back to watching Hockey full time where the team I love is actually good, the Islanders .......Oh wait, god my life sucks!
You can't bench Favre this year unless he gets hurt. If the team struggles on offense then you fire the offensive coordinator or head coach, because they have enough talent on offense not to struggle and coaching would be the fall through there. If Favre gets hurt I assume that we'd see Clemens for a game or two and then Ratliff if Clemens struggled in that span.
Even if we lose to KC, things could still be worse. This man could be our assistant head coach: http://www.kcchiefs.com/coach/dick_curl/
If we lose Sunday, *I'll* start the fire Mangini chants. Not really. But I'll flip if we lose Sunday. The Raiders...at least I think it's possible to lose to the Raiders. The Chiefs? They're playing the like 120812308 QB on their depth chart, and Larry Johnson is gone. Their D *can* be tough though...Hali, Johnson, Pollard, and Page are good players and could/should cause problems.
Why would you assume that we would lose to the Chiefs in the first place? Worrying about going 3-6 is ridiculous, but if it turns out that way, they'll probably keep on doing what they're doing. Mangini won't be fired and Favre definitely won't be benched.
