Since no one else started it, I'm starting it.

Top of the third in Texas, 1-0 Rangers thanks to the ump blowing a call at second base. Out by a mile; I don't know he called him safe. Walk, sac bunt, and a groundout later, and the Rangers are on board. Simply putrid.

I haven't watched either of the two games against Texas, but I want to caution people not to overreact to the two losses. First of all, Texas has their 3 best starters matched up against the Yankees' 3 worst starters. Second, when you get the ball to Mariano Rivera in the 9th things usually work out pretty well--even Mo blows a save every once in a while though.

Awful series. Obviously the season isn't over, but damn, no one performed consistently and this may have been the worst managed series of Girardi's career.

I can't believe tonight's matchup. CC vs. Price and I probably won't see a single pitch. I'm a Yankees fan above anything else, but there's no way I'm missing the Jets game.

Girardi and Eiland didn't want to pitch Robertson or Joba last night because they'd been used too much lately. Really?! Against the team who just overtook you for the division?

I never wanted Torre fired as badly as I want Girardi canned. I'd even do it now, right in the heart of the playoff run.

Why the hatred now? They have the playoffs all but wrapped up. Who cares about the division?

The important thing is to get into the playoffs. That's all that matters. After that, you just want your guys rested and healthy. Hell, in some ways, the Yanks might be better off with the WC. Even without the HFA, I'd rather face Minny in a short series, then TB/Tex in a long series instead of having to get through Texas and (likely) Tampa.

Robertson had thrown in back to back games, and there has been talking about limiting Joba's appearances now so he's fresher for the playoffs (he's going to have 70+ appearances come October).

I'm not saying Girardi's a genius or anything. I'm just not worried about losing these games. In fact, if I'm upset about anything, it's about sending Gardner and Swisher into the game when they're both clearly hurting. The Yanks need them to be healthy.
