picking 7th out of 12 is a dicey position....provided there are no injuries during TC....I'd try to land Andre Johnson, Drew Brees or Jones-Drew in that slot, 17a.
im assuming brees petersen chris johnson ray rice aaron rodgers mjd andre johnson frank gore will be my top 8
and without Boldin as a decoy. Ari is gonna take a major step back this year....with Hot Tub Leinart taking the snaps now.
I have not even started to think fantasy football yet! The list looks right but I may not go WR in the first. I may go Manning there instead of a WR and try for Miles Austin or any of the top WR talent in rounds 2,3, and 4. Manning's receiving core came into it's own late in the year he could be primed for a monster year in 2010. WR is deep (deeper than QB or RB) at the top so I am going to try to get two of them but probably not in the first round.
if i'm not mistaken....I think R.Moss is in a contract year.....he could have a resurgence of some magnitude.....hopefully not against the Jets though
I had him last year drafted him in the 2nd round and he was solid all year! He did however show signs of slowing down. His age should really be a factor in the draft. IMO I would try to see if he drops to the late 3rd or early 4th.
I'd strongly consider Brees or Rodgers. Looks like QB's score a ton in that system. Your top 8 is pretty on the money.
That league doesn't look overly biased towards QBs so I think you'd be reaching to take one in round 1. I think WRs have the most value because of the 1 pt per reception. That said, the top 6 should still be RBs. AP CJ MJD Turner Gore Rice After that there is a drop off at RB unless you want to reach for Greene. I would go WR and take AJohnson in a heartbeat at #7. If you go with a RB at #7, take Moss, Wayne, a top QB, or even CJohnson with your second pick.
1st round? yes. Top 8, not so much. After the top 2 RB's are off the board there is no reason to go RB in round 1. WR's are a crapshoot. Even with receptions taken into account, you can get a high reception guy later. That system makes guys like Welker insanely good pickups around round 3. If Manning drops to you, you take him. Don't even hesitate. With the lack of every down RB's in the league now, the only guy that plays every snap is the QB. Gore over a top flight QB just seems crazy to me. The FFL days of RB, RB, QB, WR, WR, TE, D, K are over. I used to win leagues with that strategy, but things are more complicated now.
1.johnson 2.petersen 3.mjd 4.brees 5.rice 6.gore 7.a.johnson 8.rodgers 9.turner 10.manning 11.moss 12.wayne
Brees is way too high on that list, imo. PPR-for-WRs league I'm taking Andre Johnson or Fitzgerald over any QB, without a doubt. If you can get one of those WRs with the 7th pick, that'd be great value. Both have been locks for 90-100 catches a year, with a ton of yards.
With the depth @ QB this season, i wouldnt go QB before the 4-5th round. Quality backs are harder to get in later rounds as opposed to servicable fantasy QB's. In mocks guys like Eli,Mcnabb,Palmer,Flacco, and Ryan are going rounds 6-7.
If it were me I'd go Peyton Manning. He's a pretty safe bet to throw for ~30 TD and 4000+ passing yards every season. Also, I'm not sure if he knows how to get injured. Maybe isn't the home-run scoring threat (fantasy wise/points) like Chris Johnson or AP but a consistent 20pt performance every week is nice.
Is it a PPR league but only for Wide Receivers and Tight Ends? And with 1 pt per 15 yards passing I'd be all over a QB early in that league. A guy like Peyton that could pull in 4,000 in his sleep is a must-get. If Rodgers or Brees is there then it's up to your personal preference, but otherwise Manning is a no brainer. AD, Chris Johnson, Ray Rice, MJD and Andre Johnson are a cut above all else at the skill spots, but you can get a top quality WR in Rd 2 on the way back.
so I HATE picking out of the 7th slot. Is it worth is to trade my first, third and 8th round picks for the 2nd overall pick and his 5th and 9th round selections?
