http://www.nfldraftforecast.com/Mock/2006/round1.shtml Taking a complete look at the Jets draft- it really isn't bad. Come out with a RB, tough OT, a QB, a pair of OGs, an OLB. Some reaches? Maaaybe. But still not bad.
Heh, imagining the collective horror here from some people if the Phins actually took Croyle is kinda fun.
1. Deangelo Williams 2. Daryn Colledge 3. Omar Jacobs 4. Fred Matua (OG-USC) 4. Jason Spitz (OG-Louisville) 5. Dale Robinson (LB-Arizona State) 6. Mike Degory (C-Florida) 7. Jeff Webb (WR-San Diego State) 7. Barry Cofield (DT-Northwestern)
Williams #4 overall? Not a freaking chance. I'd be so freaking pissed if they did that I would probably blow an artery.
Give me Williams over Cutler ANY day of the week. Cutler at #4 would be the more ridiculous of the two picks. Regardless, they're both reaches at that spot.
I would love to get williams (or White) with the #9 pick if the Detroit trade for Abe goes through. I'm not against taking a QB at 4, but I would much rather trade out of that spot and grab a few more picks (solidify the o-linie, and grab possibly a high 2007 pick). I know he hasn't done much to prove it, but I think Patrick Ramsey could be a good QB in this league. He's 27 and has shown he can take a pounding. I also wouldn't mind signing Kitna this year and possibly drafting a QB next year.
