https://www.cnn.com/2023/02/05/europe/earthquake-hits-turkey-intl-hnk Happened 200 miles west of my hometown. All my family is safe. Thousands dead. Turkish TV scenes are dramatic. Pray for those under the wreckages. Sad, so sad
So glad to hear your family is safe. I heard there was a 6.7 aftershock also. That's a major quake in it's own right.
My eyes are watery. 8 cities were impacted. 2 cities that were impacted the most don't have access thru car because roads also cracked and cars can't go. Hatay and Kahramanmaras cities can only be accessed thru air. Thousands of people are under the wreckage waiting to be saved,. Temps are cold and a lot of people will die to due Hypothermia tonight. It bothers me so much
This is awful. So many dead and so much destruction-- ancient historic buildings, residential areas. Awful. Very close to Kurdish country isn't it? Glad to hear your family is safe.
Roughly 200 kilometers to the city I was born. Things look bad right now. Roads are destroyed and tons of people under wreckage at freezing temps.
Such a horrific tragedy. People just going about their lives like you and me and suddenly the ground shook and it all came down.
I've had to stop watching the news because of this, it is heartbreaking to see people pulling their dead children from the wreckage. I'm sorry for what your people are going through Brook.
