Anyone else notice that they're wearing the vintage style uniform tonight? With the plain white numbers and not so much glitter in the gold on the helmet... Is this a permanent thing, or just a throwback for a game? I hope they stick with it... Those older 49ers' uniforms were the classiest in football EDIT: Nevermind... Apparently they're wearing them as part of the game-long tribute to Bill Walsh.... They still look great though
I think they should go back to them... Those big blocky shadowed numbers ruin an otherwise classic looking uniform.. And glitter does NOT belong on a football field...!
It's for Bill Walsh I think - They'll probably go back to the updated ugly jersey next week. I like these throwbacks though. They'd probably sell a lot more of them.
Yes, they are better than their regular uniforms. I also wish the Bills would ditch their current crap and go back to the uniforms they wore in the early 1970s. I wish the Broncos went back to their mid 1960s-1996 uniforms. Their old logo with the D and the horse with smoke coming out of its nose was great. Plus, we could see the return of the "Orange Crush" nickname. The Giants should ditch the lowercase "ny". I enjoy the new Vikings and Cardinals uniforms. I wish the Falcons would go back to their 1980 look. I don't care for the Rams uniforms. The ones they wore from 1973-99 were good, especially with the ironed-on numerals!
They are like some weird hybrid uniform. I sincerely hope other teams don't jump on that bandwagon. I find them distasteful. I wish they would get the Jets logo correct in Madden. The logo always takes up the whole side of the helmet.
I had the same exact thread awhile back. I agree the 49ers should go back to the old uniforms. I hate their newer ones...I also don't like the Eagles newer uniforms, or the Broncos, Bills, Rams, Falcons, Cardinals.
I think their old uni's are some of the best in the league. The newer uni's don't look as good, in my opinion. What's with that stupid shadow on the numbers....
I agree, I was hoping SF was going back to those. Why not stick with the ones from the winning years rather than the trendy crap they always get beat in? I agree with you guys about the Rams, Broncos, and Buffalo looks horrible with the blue on the shoulders. I'd like to see Seattle go back to their old AFC look and--I realize I'm in the minority--I liked Tampa Bay's original unis better than what they have now.
