According to Scouts.com, Michael Griffin, Justin Blalock, Tim Crowder and Fresno State cornerback Marcus McCauley just finished visiting with the Jets at "The Weeb."

    I can't provide the link, it's a pay site.

So we are looking at Blalock a second time, I know the Jet's spoke with him at the Combine.

MCCauley will be gone before the Jets will be OTC in RD 2, let alone Rd 3-4.

glad to hear that about Blalock. I posted this in another board and frankly, I don't know if this is even news to anyone, but to me it is: the past couple of eyars, everyone the Jets have drafted has come in for a visit, so the visit is a very good indication that they are serious. Blalock is in fact the guy I want us to draft, so this is very good news. ps: love Griffin as well. Which is strange because I ususally don't think much of the Texas players.

Great News, i really hope we go with Blalock.

But i really can?t see a reason to draft Griffin, exept for BPA, and i think, we can?t really afford to go for BPA, we can in a certain range, but we can?t draft a S, QB, C or RB in Round 1+2, cuz we got so many holes and we are set at this positions. If we would go BPA, and come out with a player on one of this positions, we would pass on a starter, to bench a BPA.

I know Coleman, isn?t one of the top SS in the league, but hes more than all right, and i expect a lot of Smith this year.

McCauley will be gone before our 3rd or 4th RD pick. Brian Leonard is going to be an early second round pick. Had we not traded that pick with Chicago, it may have been a possibility. We'd need to trade up or in some cases, down to get him.

Blalock would be a solid 1st round choice and we can tackle corner and de/olb in round 2 and then the rest of the draft is just depth for competition.

Do you really think Leonard is going to go that high? I think his value is at fullback in a West Coast offense, and I don't think there are many teams who are going to make drafting such a player a priority when they have much bigger needs. Leonard is most assuredly not a top 2 round feature back, and fullbacks rarely go that high.

My first thought in them bringing in Griffin is maybe forcing the Pats to take them with their first pick in the first round with the thought process that he might not be available with their second pick. The less cynical version is they're all from Texas so maybe they travel together as a group or have the same agent.

I don't see Leonard as a fit with the Jets. First of all, he is a fullback. He will be a blocker and a pass receiving back in the NFL. The Jets have more crying needs at OL, DL, and CB than for another complimentary running back. People on this board pitched a fit when the Jets drafted a fullback, Askew in the third round, a few years ago. What makes Leonard worth a 2nd round pick??????

People underestimate the rediculous athletic ability brian leanord has. He has great hands, one of the best in the draft, and also has everything you look for in a power back and a lot more. Not to mention a very underrated blocker, just look at the season ray rice had, leanord made a big contribution to that.

If he's there for #59, we NEED to take him. To not would be as dumb as passing over Dwayne Jarrett in the first.

Really hoping we manage to get Blalock. He can play 2 positions on the line and he could be the road grater that we really need to get the running game going. He's big and athletic, and judging by his wonderlick he's pretty smart for a lineman.

I am between him and Grubbs for the top guard

I'm a big fan of Leonard, but with Thomas Jones/Leon Washington, there are not enough touches to fully take advantage of what Leonard can do. If you are not getting 10+ touches a game for Leonard, you can't justify IMO using a second rounder on him.

I know he?s a great player, and with his ablility to run and catch like a RB and to block like a FB, he?s a very unique talent.

The problem with all that is, that in our offense, we use FBs only to block, we won?t handle them the ball, and we don?t throw the ball to them, so for us, a big blocking FB is better suited, than the versile, athletic type, leonard is. His talent would be wasted in our offense. He got much higher value for teams like the Pats or the Eagles. For team with the right Offense system, he?s easaly worth a 2nd rounder, maybe even late 1st, but for us, his worth is maybe a 5th rounder imo.

Bottom line: we won?t take him, even if he falls to 3rd round.

I hope it's the Eagles...I'm a semi-fan because of my location and relatives, plus they're NFC so unless it's the super bowl or head to head who cares how they do? But yeah, Pats, that would mess everything up...

    i dunno.

I hope the Jets go for LeRon McClain in the 5th rd. i think hes a Lorenzo Neal clone and is the prototype blocking back the jets are looking for. jets go with blalock rd 1. nab a CB and OLB in rd 2. maybe mike walker rd 3. then McClain 5th.
