    Just in.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) - Four Miami Hurricanes, including running back Tyrone Moss and receiver Ryan Moore, have been suspended for the Sept. 4 season opener against Florida State, coach Larry Coker said Tuesday.

Moss and Moore were slated to be two of Miami's top offensive threats this season, and both teams could be ranked in the Top 10 coming into the season.
Linebacker James Bryant and receiver Rashaun Jones were also suspended.

Moore's suspension will also include the second game of the season against Florida A&M. He also was suspended for the Peach Bowl at the end of last season.

Coker said the players violated team policy and knew about the suspensions before Tuesday.

"It's all the same incident," Coker said. He declined to elaborate.

I was just about to post it. Miami's championship aspirations are over before the season starts because there ain't no way they beat FSU now.

Ryan Moore has been the biggest disappointment on the Miami team; Tyrone Moss is coming off of knee surgery, so he won't be 100% anyway. In fact, Andrew Johnson, Charlie Jones or Derron Thomas will be capable enough to pick up the slack with Moss being out (not to mention some pretty high end incoming freshmen).

The strength of the team is going to be the defense anyway, especially at the linebacker and secondary spots.

If the o-line holds up, there are still guys like Greg Olsen, Lance Legett and Darnell Jenkins to get the ball to. Besides, it's a state of Florida thing; regardless of who is on the field, it's going to be a knock down, drag out fight at the OB. The Canes will win!

You know what else isn't good? Putting yourself in a situation where you can get suspended. Would you rather they went out and screwed around after the FSU game? of course you would, but that just goes to show you that if they made the game later, people will still find a way to mess up and get suspended, especially at Miami.

we'll see, it will be a great game thats for sure.

im a Noles fan, but obviously I respect any good team. Our OL is soso at best, but I'm hoping Xavier Lee gets the nod this yr. not to mention were stacked at RB/LB even with the loss of Washington and Nicholson/Sims. what will hurt us most is the departure of Bunkley/Wimbley.

Although Burston and Boston are solid replacements at Ends, Fluellen and Dunbar at DT should get the job done.

    BUSTER DAVIS BABY!!!

either way im looking forward to it, its like watching a conference championship to kick off the season.

people look for Booker this yr!

what im really looking forward to is seeing Marcus Sims (Ernie Sims brother) at RB. 6 ft 1, 230, 4.5 (but hes a fresh so carries will go to Booker and Antone Smith

if hes as half as nasty as his brother he'll be someone to deal with.

It really doesn't hurt the Canes as much as most people think. Ryan Moore is an incredible waste of life, pretty sure he was going to be suspended for his actions after last season even if he hadn't done whatever it was he did now. If he were physically capable of catching more than one pass a game, it'd suck, considering the Canes are in desperate need for bodies at WR. Reshaun Jones sucks, he doesn't matter at all. James Bryant would hurt if he wasn't a crybaby that demanded to return to LB, where he's no better than 3rd on the DC at MLB.

As for Tyrone Moss, his season looks like it's over before it even starts. His true colors really showed through when he reportedly weighed in at 240 pounds this offseason, again balooning up to fat-ass level like after his freshman year. I don't know what's wrong with his head, but he went from 2nd round pick to undrafted fool because he can't say no to 2 am Taco Bell runs. What a waste.

All in all, both teams are going to be pretty bad. The Canes will be adjusting to a new offense, with a 80% new Oline, a trio of unproven WRs (* trio, because they only have 3 worth anything, unless freshman Sam Shields catches on quickly), and a stable of RBs who all lack anything special. Wright should be better, but who really even knows, and Olsen's consistency is still going to be a problem.

FSU's offense is better, but their line is fairly bad as well, Booker is as overhyped as anyone in the country, and Jeff Bowden's still their OC. However, Weatherford is the best QB in the state, and he's got a few good WRs (I love Carr).

Luckily for the Canes though, their Defense is going to be very, very good, except maybe for the cornerbacks, but the fact that they have 3 terrific safeties should help some. As for FSU, they lost a lot on that Defense (including Trevor Ford a few weeks ago), so their mediocrity will match that of Miami's offense.

I love how Miami always gets crap when they show class. I mean people violated team rules and they are suspended. It is a concern that some of those players are good but its a strong message. But i love the fact the last year that Aj Nicholson and Ernie Sims were caught in the offseason for girlfriend beating and other things played the miami vs florida st game last year. I guess you can go and call miami Thug U. I still view Florida St as having no class at all.......then again i guess they have some class to be beating on women, then apologizing by giving them a shopping spree at Dillards

thats just a cheapshot from a Miami fan. I myself respect Miami as a FSU fan. even though I hate them.

point is its Florida, theres alot of talent here and alot of kids from bad area's. Shit happens.I could dig up NUMEROUS Miami stories. but i wont cause I know FSU is just as guilty.

and dont bring up the Dillards thing, that was blown out of water, not to mention WAY in the past.

The only legit remark I'll give you is AJ Nicholson is a head case.

either way, notice how I posted an actual analysis of FSU/Miami and so did Green Hurricane. its not hard to just talk football.

dont be mad at FSU, be mad at the media for milking these stories for all they can and pointing fingers.

I respect FSU, but the fact is why bash Miami for being Thug U when they are doing the right thing here and FSU let two players who had records in the summer play their opener last season. Its just stupid.
