    Cuts: Saves 16M
    Sanchez, Holmes, and Benjamin Ijalana

    Restructure: Saves 7M
Cromartie 2 year 14 M (Full Guarantee 2014 and 3 M 2015, if he underperforms again next year can be cut with minor loss)

    Total Cap room 43M

    Resigning:
Willie Colon OG- 1 year 1M
Played well this past year with the exception of some penalties. He seems to have become a leader in the locker room and is a steal at 1M, which would have been more if he hadn’t gotten injured

    Austin Howard 4 year 16M
Has been sold at RT since taking over, in fact he was the 1st or 2nd best o-lineman this on the Jets this past yr

    Nick Folk K- 2 year 6 M
Finally time to pay one of the best kickers in the NFL last year

    Calvin Pace- 1 Year 2M
Some vet leadership on a very young defense. Will be a good stop gap while a rookie is groomed

    Leger Douzable- 2 year 2.5M
    Jeff Cumberland- 2 year 2M
    Ellis Lankster- 1 year 750K
    Nick Bellore- 1 year 650K

    FA:
    Jairus Byrd 5 year 45M
Is he Revis part 2? Maybe but who cares. The jets have been getting killed over the middle since Rex took over, Byrd will end all of that. The addition of Byrd makes the Jets D the top unit in the NFL next year

    Jon Asamoah 3 year 15M
Very good LG who will be a major upgrade to the O-line. Plugging in Asomoah with Ferguson, Mangold, Colon, and Howard will make the Jets o-line a top 10 again.

    Jeremy Maclin 3 year 18M
Worth the risk if the contract doesn’t have a lot of guaranteed money. His connection with Mornhinweg will make it a quick transition.

    Matt Schaub 2 year 9M
Similar contract to Matt Cassel. Gives Geno some Vet mentorship and he is a capable back up if Geno continues to struggle

    Adam Carriker 1 year 900K
Will be cut secondary to high contract and injury history. He’s a former 1st rd pick who can play the run. Provides some valuable depth to an excellent unit.

    Draft:
    1st: Eric Ebron TE
The jets get the playmaker on O they desperately need. If Ebron is gone by this pick the pick will be Amaro

    2nd: Trent Murphy OLB
This guy is one of my favorite players in the whole draft. Both him and Coples will be an excellent OLB combo and Murphy will make the jets front 7 the best in the NFL.

**Trade: Jets 3rd from Bucs (#69), Jets 5th, Jets 2015 4th (#56) to San Fran 2nd From KC

2nd (From SF): Jordan Matthews WR
Surplus of WR plus average to slightly below average 40 drops him in the 2nd. Reminds me a lot of Anquin Boldin

    3rd: Kyle Fuller CB
Some insurance if Cromartie struggles again next year. Can replace Wilson after his contract is up otherwise

    4th: De'Anthony Thomas
Pass catching RB the offense has been missing and he is a good KR/PR.

    4th Supplemental: Seantrel Henderson OT
This dudes a moron and injury prone but he’s got elite size and athleticism. He’s worth the pick late in the 4th and if nothing else can come in on jumbo packages

    5th Supplemental: Andrew Jackson ILB
Tough run defender who reminds me a lot of Vontez Burfict in that he’s had some legal problems and will not run the best 40 but he is just an excellent football player

6th Kirby Van Der Kamp, P
    Punter of the future

    7th Kaneakua Friel TE
Good blocking TE to complement Ebron and Cumberland who struggle in this area

    2014 Roster:

    QB: Smith, Cassel, Simms
    RB: Ivory, Powell, Thomas
    FB: Bohanon
WR: Maclin, Matthews, Kerley, Hill, Nelson
    TE: Ebron, Cumberland, Friel
    OT: Ferguson, Howard, Henderson
    OG: Asomoah, Colon, Winters, Campbell
    C: Mangold, Schlauderaff
    DE: Wilkerson, Richardson, Douzable, Carriker
    NT: Snacks, Ellis
OLB: Coples, Murphy, Pace, Barnes, Cunningham
    ILB: Harris, Davis, Jackson, Ballore
CB: Milliner, Cromartie, Wilson, Fuller, Lankster
    FS: Byrd, Josh Bush
    SS: Landry, Allen, Jarrett

I'd absolutely hate a good part of this.

For starters, that's waaaaaay too much to pay Cro. No way I'd do that.

I like the Asamoah and Maclin signings, but those are the only two FA signings I like. Byrd's a great player, but is just too expensive. Schaub sucks. I wouldn't be interested in him for the vet minimum. What's the point in signing a 30 year-old DE with knee problems?

I like Ebron and Matthews, but am not that high on Murphy or Fuller. The fact that you traded up using three picks I absolute hate and think that would be stupid beyond words, especially for Matthews. The only other players I like in your draft are Thomas and Van Der Kamp. I think your TE will go undrafted.

I'm starting to come around on Byrd. It's a lot of money but he is probably the best FS in the league, and really puts our D on another level in my opinion. Also really helps our CBs who will probably be our weakest unit on D

Hate the draft day trade, so we give up a high 3rd, a 5th and a future 4th for that late 2nd round pick. No thanks, even if its for Matthews who I do like.

I like the resigning moves you made. Howard is well deserving of a payday as is Nick Folk. I also like the Maclin signing. It'll take more than a 1 year show me contract to pry him away from Philly as others have suggested.

I don't mind the Cromartie restructure at that figure. We need the depth at that position.

I don't like the Byrd signing. I think TJ Ward(CLE?) can be had for less than that and would perform just as well.
I don't like the Schaub signing especially at that number.

I like most of this. Really like Byrd, Schuab and Maclin! I think that fills 3 big holes with a elite ball hawk FS, a vet QB to push Geno and 1b WR.

Cro didn't plat well but still made the pro bowl? So i think ur accurate with his salary. Even though it's steep...

I'm not sold on the trade at the draft though... This draft for the Jets is all about boom or bust picks and we have a bunch to gamble with. I would rather take a chance on a guy with a 5th than move up and there is a chance both picks bust... This draft is deep! Very deep in fact! Keep all the picks we can and try swing for the fences with some.

Swinging for the fences is Tanny's modus operandi, not Idzik's, and thank God for it. This team cannot afford to miss. They need as many draft picks as possible to hit. I doubt the Seahawks swung for the fences. They made good, solid picks. The draft is not the time be be a riverboat gambler.

Take away the Schaub signing and the draft day trade, and I would be pretty excited about that offseason.
