I guarantee it's all secret government crafts. People have been experimenting with that kind of tech since WW2, but surprisingly it vanished from the mainstream. Government has been hiding this stuff for that exact reason. Pretend it is aliens so you don't get held accountable for violating international treaties.
Same guarantee two guys gave me last week when they claimed "the government" has introduced hundreds of spayed or neutered (so as to not proliferate) coyotes in Suffolk County to "control" the deer population.
Once you learn how projection works and the motivation for hiding it, it makes the most sense for them to be government. I know aliens are sexy and people want them to exist, but in all reality, interstellar travel has limits and it's very unlikely any alien society has ever visited this planet due to the enormous undertaking it would require. That's just based on the laws of physics. It's the government, always has been. Occam's razor.
