Three weeks from today rookies and veteran report to Hofstra for the start of New York Jets Training Camp 2006! Who's excited?
It really creeped up on me this year. I think it is because I have been so busy with getting transferred to school. I look foward to seeing the team in preseason. Not to see us win, just to see all the new people. I also look foward to seeing the QB battle unfold.
I start getting excited once the main draft picks are signed. One thing Bradway was always able to do was to get the picks signed and into camp on time. I hope Tanny can do the same thing. Brick and Mangold need as many reps with the first team as possible.
Im curious to see who starts out at the #1 QB during camp, or if they will keep the rotating reps equally going.
We haven't had a rookie holdout since 1997 (James Farrior)...Tannenbaum has always been a big reason for that success. I have no doubt that our streak will continue.
You what? What sort of response is that? My God, man, finish the sentence! The suspense is killing me.
Is this the last year at Hofstra? Will the new digs in NJ be ready for 2007? I'm sad if this is the last year for Hofstra. Growing up as a kid we went to Hofstra in the 70's to see camp. 30+ years and it will end in August....
You and me both. One of the few positives from our purge are that now we can see young guys in games, making mistakes and learning from them, instead of some old veterans who understand the game but are physically inferior to those across from them. This is the 2nd preseason that I will be looking forward too due to the position battles. I'm even trying to get some decent tickets to the redskins jets game in preseason week 1.
Last I read, they will remain at Hofstra next year too, then go to Jersey. I am very much looking forward to this camp. I'll probably break my personal record for attending this year. Lots of things I want to see.... Clemens, Chad (without my biased Penny sunglasses on for a change) Houston, now that his Thyroid condition is properly medicated, The rooks, especially the top five picks, Ramsey....... and last but not least, to get a feel for how this CS is going to operate, and what both the O and D schemes will look like. Watching the D will tell a lot about who will play where, and how much. Should be fun.
I am always excited for football season BUT this is the first yar in a LONG time where I am going into a season and not expecting at least to be in contention for the postseason late in the year so it's going to be a little different enthusiasm for me. I compare it to UNC basketball last year, I knew we weren't winning a Nat'l title but I anted to see the team play hard and get better and that's what happened so i am looking forward to that for the Jets this yar and hopefyully the expctations can resume next year.
I can't wait. I've been miserable the past few months without my football. Losing or not, I want my Sundays back! I agree with everything nyjunc said too. (Well, except I'm not a UNC fan.)
Football, American Football will come soon. It seems that the seaon goes by quickly, yet the "off-season" seems to last SO long!
Is it free ? If not how much will it cost. Another question how can I get there without a cor of my own? Thanks !
