1) Taking the TO before the 3rd down play and then stopping the run on third down before Vinatieri's kick. 2) Cromartie's kick return. 3) Sanchez to Braylon. Clutch throw...GREAT CATCH. That's your ball game. Bring on that UGG selling faggot.
1) Holmes psyching out the Colts on the first punt. 2) Sanchez throwing to the cheerleaders most of the game. 3) Game winning FG by Folk!!!
I was only pointing this out, because Rex's time management has been put into question many, many times by most of the people who frequent this board. So, give him credit for calling the TO in the right spot, and the defense for getting the stop on what was the play of the game.............. other than the game winning FG. Colts get that 1st down....the fucking game is over and we're all steamed right now.
I said that while watching. Clock management was spot on tonight. Overall playcalling was pretty good too.
I think the four 3rd down stops on the first four drives (including three on 3rd and 1) were very big - Sanchez was playing poorly at the time, and the game could have gotten out of hand.
The biggest play; or I should say, the worst call for the Colts was kicking off deep to Cromartie. I had very little hope left until I saw that ball sailing high and I knew before Cro even had it that we were going to win. Just knew it. I was shocked to not see a short or squib kick there. Couldn't believe the arrogant stupidity of kicking deep to a guy who already proved he was going to torch you when he got his chance.
yeah, that was head scratching to say the least. I still say Rex's TO was bigger. Edit: was an incomplete pass on the 3rd down play, sorry fellas.
Kicking short would have given us great field position and only needing a FG to win. They pretty much had to kick deep and do their best to cover the kick....they failed, but giving us the ball in good field position w/a short kick would have been odd.
Considering the earlier return by Cro and the terrible kick coverage team they knew they had on the field, it made about as much sense as us kicking deep to Devin Hester did a few weeks ago. You kick it short to a guy who's either going to just fall on it or even fail to get out of the way and touch the ball, it beats giving up the huge likelihood of a big return. I expected the kick to hit around the 20 or 30.
