I Haven't been keeping up with much of the Draft Prospects this year, I'm just wondering who are the top 3-4 Pass Rushers in this years draft that we can possibly target ?

I Watched some video on these guys and the guy who impresses me the most is Jeremy Beal from Oklahoma. He has great speed, Strength and is one of those high motor guys that dominate at OLB in the 3-4. From what i read the only knock is one you get with most College guys who will switch to 3-4 and thats against the rush, but we need a pure rusher and he seems to fill that bill.

Add Justin houston to that list and one of those 5 hopefully will make it to us. Then again I hope to be drafting 32nd.

If we don't go OLB in rd 1 then Steven Friday (Va Tech) and Sam Acho (Texas) might be options in rd 3...

I'm really starting to think this is the year for OLB in round one. The talent pool is deep and we should have a very good prospect there. Who knows, as long as its not a fucking kicker I'll belive in our staff lol.

    Jabaal Sheard - DE, Pitt

    6'4" 260lbs(listed)

This guy is going to be a beast in the NFL. Hopefully he will be wearing green and white while he does it.

    Yup..
The dood got 'tude. (which we lack)

we need a guy with bad intentions.

With our luck, we'll beat NE tomorrow and they'll pick him 6 spots ahead of us.

Jabaal Sheard obviously has some "character concerns", but like Hobbes said: we need someone with bad intentions on this defense. In my opinion, a pass rusher should be the meanest dude on the field.

If things go smoothly for Sheard the rest of the way, he'll be a relatively high pick - late first to early second.

Jeremy Beal and Jabaal Sheard should be neck-and-neck for the top spot on the Jets' draft board.

From what I've been seen Beal is a beast and I Like sheard as well but what do you think about Ryan Kerrigan from Purdue? He looks like a damn good pass-rusher.

big fan of Aldon Smith. The man is so athletic and long - he's gonna end up being a 6'5" 270 OLB (after a year or two in pro weight room) and a BEAST.

Wow... WTF... bad intentions ON the field... we don't need a moron in jail!

If we go OLB in rd 1 add Justin Houston (Gerogia, 6-3 258) to the discussion.

I really want to see Von Miller work out at the combine... big question on mark on him atm.

PS Will Greg Romeus be a 4-3DE prospect only? Pretty banged up atm so he could be had in the later rounds...

Call me crazy, but I think ATL ends up with Houston as a "luxury" pick depending on free agency. He has potential as a 3-4 OLB, but don't undersell him as a 4-3 DE. His explosion off the line(hands up or down) is paralleled by few in this draft.

Jamaal Anderson is potentially on his way out(possible Jets FA?), Chauncey Davis is a rotational player only, and despite Abraham's great season, he isn't getting any younger...

I'd love to see what he could do in the 3-4.

I'm with you on Houston playing in the 4-3. I think he's got the ability to play in both schemes, but he'll be a little more valuable with his hand in the dirt.

He actually showed potential when they played Anderson at DT, he just doesn't have enough agility to play 4-3 DE. He's big, strong enough to hold up in run support, and his agility would be above average for the 3-4 DE compared to 4-3.

Houston will be good wherever he goes, but he'll have an impact sooner in a 4-3. Great athleticism, but raw as a LB as it stands now...

My problem with Justin Houston as a 43 end is that he seems to have a really limited set of pass rush moves. He tries to speed rush too much, and puts himself way out of plays because of it. I don't know how he'd do if he's locking up with a tackle every play, being a step further outside he could get away burning upfield every play. I think he'd have the longest way to go of the OLB prospects, even more than a guy like Aldon Smith with only 2 years of playing college ball.

As far as LB skills, he wouldn't have any more trouble than Smith, Sheard, Kerrigan, Quinn, etc. They'd all need a good amount of work.

I think he's done well with it though, having that much success with limited passrushing moves. I've noticed he tries to set up tackles with the outside speed rush, then shoots inside to make the play.

I think the biggest question about him is his motor, very hot-cold, seems to take off on run plays. I'm sure a DL coach can light a fire under him though...
