http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/sports/...=topslot;title;1&om_act=convert&click=topslot If any of you were/are NFL 2k5 fans, then you're probably excited. Madden is definately not cutting it, as far as the next-gen games go. Expect a really good football game released at the end of the summer.
YESSS!!! ^^If you read the article the games all pro, no official players or franchises. Ill probably still buy it, im sure some guy could bring out a patch to get nfl teams into it at a later date.
why doesn't madden stop being dicks and let them get the players and teams, if they do, I'll def buy All Pro 2k8, madden knows this, and they are being dueches, oh well, i'll stick with madden
ive never been a fan of the 2k games. I think that graphics are way worse than madden. It has better gameplay but not by much
Madden, or more specifically EA, isn't doing anything. it has nothing with being deuches or dicks, it is just a business decision that the NFL instigated. the NFL is the one that sought out a company to purchase the exclusive rights to NFL video games, EA is simply the company that bought it. that would be like saying Microsoft is being a dick because they aren't selling Halo games on the PS2(3). it is their property and they are using it to maximize their own profits, not Sony's. same thing with NFL games. EA ponied the expense, it is their property, so they get to profit. communism doesn't work in society or in the video game industry. I would prefer 2K simply make an NCAA football game, but if you can customize the teams, players and stadiums or download your own graphics for team logos which can be incorporated in into the game to replace their "default" logos, in turn using the game to make your own NFL game, which nextgen systems are completely capable of doing, I am all for it. someone out there will do the work to put together a nice download for the game to convert it to an "unofficial" NFL game.
way worse is a bit of an exageration. but even so, if the gameplay is better, isn't that more important?
2k did have worse graphics. But I liked some of their features such as pregame and halftime. The 1st player view was awful though. If Madden incorporated some of those features (pregame, halftime and in game cuts to "another game") Madden will be unbeatable.
Im so down for a new 2k game that i will buy one of those "next gen" consoles if they dont make a Wii version. If i had a working PS2 i would be playing NFL2k5, right now.
I used to prefer the 2K series for football but now I'm used to Madden. And, if 2K can't get the official players' names and team names, then what's the point?
considering the ability to download new content for next gen systems, and the hinted level of customization that is going to be present in this game, I think the point is that there will almost certainly be a "unofficial" download that will update all the rosters, teams and stadiums with NFL names that will, in essence, be able to convert this game into an "unoffcial" NFL game. now, it will be intersting if the developers program in the player and team names so the announcers recognize them and use them during game play. if so, you will have a seemless NFL game that circumvents the exclusive contract that EA signed because 2k isn't selling an NFL game, the users are simply taking advantage of the customizing feature to make there own. it could work out great.
