IMO you are only missing he fact that several rookie QB's finished ahead of him this year. I guess they are progressing at a slightly faster rate?

And he did all that with a subpar run game, a pile of garbage at RT, WR’s who just can’t get open and an OC that was...well, we know.

He is improving, but not at the rate as everyone wants. He definitely doesnt deserve all the shit he gets from fans and the media and especially his own “teammates”.

Dunno.....Mark's QB ratings was HIGHER in the playoff games that he WON.

How did all those rookie QB's and road QB's do on the road in this year's playoffs ????

Its not like those rookies had a monster in Steve Smith (the greatest small wr in the nfl by a mile) and AJ Green who is a poor mans Andre/Calvin Johnson.

Where as Sanchez only had a 36 year old ex con coming off of a gunshot wound, a 5th round rookie dealing with injuries, and a #1 reciever who was high as a kite non stop. All the while doing it with the worst RT in the history of the planet

Yeah, that his current rate of improvement of 3 points a year it will take 4 more years for him to be a top 10 quarterback and about seven years to crack the top five.

Depends what they do in year 2. Josh Freeman was ahead of him last year and fell off a cliff. Joe Flacco was ahead last year and declined. Matt Ryan was well ahead last year and fell back.

Dalton, Newton, Yates, Ponder, Gabbert and Locker could all play better in 2012 than they showed in 2011, some won't play at all, others will be worse. Too soon to say. Certainly one good season (Freeman 2010, for example) isn't enough to draw any kind of definitive conclusions.

You basically saying he has regressed since the playoffs. Good point!

You mean the rookie Dalton who just got eliminated from the playoffs while throwing 3 picks? or Cam Newton who didn't even make the playoffs and was 6-10? NFL is a winning league nobody gives a fuck about how many yards you throw for or touchdowns you throw for if your not winning shit. Ask Matt Ryan who is now 0-3 in the playoffs and couldn't even put up a fucking field goal.

Are you suggesting Sanchez is better then Ryan now?

Might wanna add the guy in Miami with only 10 starts that made Mark look like a towel boy.

What is with the obsession with the QB position anyway, there's plenty of teams that have won Superbowl's without top 10 QB's, we were a few plays away from making the playoffs this year and I'll chalk that up to lack of talent but we'll be back on track next year.

Attacking other QB's means Mark is really good? OK.

I'd settle for a QB that can read defenses. I know its a lot to ask from some Jet fans but hey - I am hard to please.

You mean that guy in Miami who has one of the absolute most elite WRs in the entire NFL he could just chuck the ball up to and hell beast that shit up ?

Because Calvin Johnson, Fitz, Marshall, and AJ are all in that same category as the upper most elite category that can make any QB out there look like a monster.

Of course Marshalls a total headcase and its hard to know when hes gonna be in jail or beating his wife (or getting beat by her), but there is absolutely no doubt that hes a fuckin monster.

Agreed. I haven't given up on him, and I hope for the best, but I don't get the, "Other QB's had worse stats, so Mark must be great" posts.

It is funny how even though he hasn't made "Huge" strides he has improved each year.

I wouldn't be surprised with a 85+ Passer Rating come next season but if we miss the play offs it will be all on him and he will probably be cut or traded.

If my memory serves me right the last team that won a Superbowl without a great QB were the Ravens with Trent Dilfer, which had 1 of the best defenses in NFL history.

    Everything is relative.

If your avg 3rd year QB is throwing 20td-40 ints, and your 3rd year QB only throws 20tds-30ints. That would make him above average.
