I asked this on another thread where someone was talking about leading wire to wire in a game. I'm too lazy, but I'd be curious to see how long the jets have led in hours/minutes/second the entire Saleh era. Outside of the Oakland game,I can't think of a game where they held a lead for a good chunk of it.
The game planning and preparation has been absolutely abysmal under this CS. With the Mariners making the playoffs in MLB, I'm rooting for the Sacramento kings to make the playoffs in the NBA this year. That would mean our jets would own the longest playoff drought in all the 4 major sports.
As I've said, I'm still willing to give Douglas and Saleh a chance - JD more than Saleh - but they should have this stat plastered all over their facility so they understand the URGENCY of showing progress. "22 Seconds" is way more catchy than "All gas no brakes".
In today's game alone: Jets kick FG at 3:32 mark in 1st quarter. They wouldn't relinquish that lead until about 6 minutes into 3rd quarter. Looks like a whole lot longer than just 22 seconds, no?
Maybe the gods are sending us a cryptic message? Zach Wilson is #2 The Jets are 2-2 We have lead for 22 seconds this season It's 2022 Maybe this is our year after all!?
We need to pass a couple more tests before talking playoffs. First, win two in a row 2nd win a game in our division. A win Sunday checks both those boxes. If we find a way to beat the Dolphins I will let myself start thinking about playoffs. This team is so young it can be a big win Sunday or we can get blown out. We should be very familiar with this style of offense and I think we match up well in the secondary.
