We are on the road against Todd Bowles and Baker Mayfield. It will be a short week for Bucs because they are playing tonight at MNF. But I don't think this will matter much. We will lose handily. That said, week 4 we are on Monday Night Football against the Dolphins. Dolphins are also 0-2 and on Thursday they will play the Bills on the road. If both Jets and Dolphins lose on Week 3, there will be 2 teams with 0-3 records on Monday Night Football. Long story short, I hope we show something here. I want smart players on the field giving their 100%. Win or lose doesn't matter. Just show that you care.
it’s pretty hard to imagine the team we saw yesterday winning any football games so I’m not even sure what there is to discuss. Don’t get embarrassed? That’s all I ask.
Glenn just coached his first no-show. It might be the first of many this season. We are a long way from being competitive on a weekly basis. Maybe next year but '25 is done by Columbus Day. It never stood a chance... Tampa wins big..
They need to get to Baker. The offensive line is vulnerable on the edge with Wirfs out and a so-so interior IMO. If Baker has time and we try to play man coverage we’re going to get shredded. Offensively we will come and go with the running game. If we can’t run the ball, we’ll always be in trouble.
I don’t think scheme is really the problem. The Steelers game was a ton of busted coverages. It can and should be on the coach to make sure that doesn’t happen so it still falls at Wilks feet. But I don’t think it’s really a scheme problem per se.
I don't think there is a more underrated team in the NFL than the Buccaneers. They aren't sexy and they don't get much attention. All they do is win a lot of football games.
If this season runs true to form we will win this game and the game against the Dolphins creating false hope and positivity before going on a lengthy losing streak to run them out of playoff contention before winning some games late in the season to ruin the draft also
Meh…I’m not on that train…I don’t think Bowles is a very good coach…so far he has benefitted from being in one of the most consistently bad divisions…he’s winning that division yes but it all sucks and even then, his records haven’t been great. If he were still our coach, we’d still be sucking like we did when he was here.
He has done a decent job but he inherited a team put together by Arians and started off having Tom Brady under centre and is in a really bad division which doesn't feature a single top end QB
Stephens had yet another abysmal game yesterday. I don't think there's any gameplan in the world that can cover for his lack of NFL ability. I assume Sauce shadows Evans but he should be on Egbuka. The only chance we have is to get to Baker, like you said, and JJ may not even play. It's all a recipe for disaster, although I do feel like our offense is more respectable through the air with Tyrod as opposed to Fields.
I'm not sure "where" some of you get this wild impression that Bowles is not a very good coach. In case our current environment hasn't cured some of you that "coaching does actually matter" then I'm not sure what to tell you. I don't care if Bowles had HoF'ers in every spot on that team, coaching still matters. I do not find it odd he couldn't win in NY...seems, outside of Bill Parcells, NO coach or GM has been able to win in NY! So, as far as I'm concerned, Todd Bowles is a hell of a coach because, unlike the NY Jets, his team has been in the post season and won that division for many years now. I also don't want to hear this bullshit about how "that division is meh." He hasn't done a decent job he's done a phenomenal job! Baker Mayfield was thrown aside by how many franchises again? Yet, what do they do? Oh, that's right, win. JSMH
Only three teams are coming into this season having won their division three consecutive years: The Bills, The Chiefs, and The Tampa Bay Bucs
yes and Taylor spreads the ball around, he doesn’t take chances or make mistakes. A clean boring game that could go either way.
I would come out throwing. Let Tyrod throw a bunch of short completions, a la WCO. No team respects Fields as a passer, teams have to respect Tyrod as a passer. On the flip side... no team is playing the run against Tyrod like they are Fields so we have to open up the run. Make the defense change their gameplan.
Im rooting for a Bucs win tonight to get them to 2-0. Bowles would always have a trap game (or a few) that his teams would lose after stacking together a few wins in a row. Our Jets could be that Bowles trap game
