They build you up, and want to take you down. It was inevitable and obvious, the negative narrative has begun and is going to be relentless this season. Be prepared for this. Don't get sucked in. Cimini will be on the front lines of this campaign, everything that comes out of his mouth is toxic vomit. Their first order of business is to present the Jets as an organization that systemically disregards player safety. Over the last 2 days, we have reports about Ty Johnson being cut just after doctor's recommended surgery for him and then the Jets causing Becton's injury by putting him at right tackle. Remember. None of these media outlets had any accurate information pertaining to acquiring Rodgers. Why would their information about ANYTHING in the building be accurate? Going to keep tabs on this stuff.
At the risk of sounding like a pessimist (), it's not like there hasn't been a trend under Joe Douglas that some injury situations seem to be very poorly managed by the FO. In this case however, it sounds like he hurt himself on his own time. That's kind of a risk you take when you make a living with your body and hurt yourself away from the oversight of team facilities.
Yeah, I'm tired of the NY media, nothing has exposed them as much as the Rodgers BS. Every step of the way they thought they knew what they were talking about but actually knew next to nothing. LOLJets is their narrative, and that won't change, even with Rodgers.
the Ty Johnson story is framed all wrong. 'Jets cut Ty Johnson after performing surgery he did not want' the story could easily be 'Jets help out Ty Johnson by briefly signing him so he can get a surgery paid for on the team's medical service'
This is exactly the point. The headline is framed exactly as they want it. It will be relentless this season.
To think the NY media is not the worst across the nation is as naïve as thinking the NYJ have done everything right, or wrong for that matter. There is nothing more toxic than NY media, except perhaps in San Francisco.
A better title for this thread would be "Shoot the Messenger." Wouldn't it be preferable to investigate what is being claimed and fairly weigh the information developed?
Yeah, I don't buy that. As far as the NY media anyway. Those guys probably want a winner as much as we do. They really wanted us to trade for Rodgers because he's something interesting to report on instead of the usual parade of losers we have had at the position. I agree with you when it comes to the garbage from sports networks though, especially the Mothershit.
As aggravating as the barrage of criticisms toward the Jets has been from the national sports media it will only give our team that much more incentive, determination and will power to turn on beast mode and crush the opposition. When Josh Allen steps into Met Life on September 11 he'll find out awful quick that this isn't the same old Jets. In the words of the great wise man Mr. T. "I Pity the Fool." LFG Jets!!
Adding another one. The narrative that Douglas got cucked by the Patriots. Seemed like Douglas had McDonald higher on their board than Jones. Also Douglas called the trade in advance of it and seemed calm and cool.
