Schmidt made the choice since he's hurt when Cole is going to come back. Hindsight answer because this happened after you posted the question.

Honestly I think he would have made the most sense anyways. I'm not sure how effective Cortez would be out of the bullpen and it was really between those 2.

I write a big long thing about how good the Yankees are, and my phone died and it's gone.

You can’t stop Trent Grisham you can only hope to contain him.

Alright @JackBower you were right. Gleyber fucking sucks and he’s a losing baseball player.

He was teetering on the edge the past few years in terms of just sucking. This year he's taken the leap because he does everything that made him a loser, but now he can't hit anything.

The biggest problem, always, is he's just lazy. There's no reason to think he will bust out of any slump.

Is it just me or does it seem like triples are way up across the board this year?

Man we love to complain specifically as Yankee fans but it’s tough to be upset with anything about this team. Pretty fun season regardless of where it ends up.

You cannot tell me the Yankees don’t have an infielder somewhere in the minors better than Gleyber. What’s this guy do well? Anything?

Lol watches two fastballs down the middle and swings at a sweeper 26 feet off the plate.

They do. His names Oswaldo Cabrera.

Clutch home run by Stanton and he's having a better season so far, but watching his swing on super slow mo is putrid.

His best asset is that Cashman will get to say he traded a closer for an MLB 2nd baseball, while omitting he was supposed to be a short stop, that started for 7 seasons. Cash knows he can put that on his resume and only some will remember the majority of his Yankee career he was a losing player.

Oh, and he catches pop ups well I guess.

There's the Stanton injury, he couldn't change that narrative unfortunately.

Let's see if he can come back and not hit .200 with a million strikeouts and minimal power for 2 months. That's also his narrative after these injuries.

I doubt we see him until September at this point to be honest. Hamstrings linger and his quad injuries keep him out months let alone a more finicky injury to rehab like a hamstring.
