The concern has to be that a forearm strain is a precursor to Tommy John surgery. The website of the Yankee team physician, Dr. Christopher Ahmad, states that 20% of pitchers who experience forearm strains will need Tommy John surgery within a year. Again, that's from the Yankees' own team physician.
It amazes me that Brian Cashman is still employed.
