the one thing the isles are this year is streaky. I expect a 3 game losing streak to finish the year after the winning streak that got them back into playoff contention, but ultimately they will be saved by losses by the Caps and Pens tonight.

Roy has tuned out to be a difference maker, leading us to an improvement of one point over last season, which I expect to translate to one more win than last season in the playoffs. Unfortunately that means Carolina in 7. for the rest I’m going Rangers in 5, Bruins in 6, Panthers in 5, Vancouver in 5, Edmonton in 4, Dallas in 6, Winnipeg in 7.
decent first period... Andersen looks shaky, IMO. They gotta put more pucks on him, just shoot from anywhere.
Islanders not winning many puck battles in the offensive zone. Carolinas transition game is very good. Can’t waste opportunities to put puck on net and get dirty goals. Seems like it’s the only way islanders are going to get any goals.
What should have been a 3-0 lead was a 1-2 deficit. This is the game they’ll regret most when they lose the series.
That's the best they can play, and they scored 1 goal. Pretty much says it all about how this team was put together.
Agreed. My 7 game prediction was dependent on the idea the Isles would win the games in which they held the Canes to 2 goals. I expect a blowout tonight, and even a game 3 loss before a game 4 moral victory extends the misery, err series.
I think they are getting swept, they can only manage a goal from a no name player and the top two lines are simply overmatched by the Canes. The lack of big time goal scorer has hurt them since Lou took over.
You may be right. I only give the Isles a game because they did go 2-2 against the Canes in the regular season. So, it's not impossible for them to win a game in this series. I think the Caps are definitely getting swept by the Rangers, however.
When they interviewed Brindamoure on the bench he said the Canes had another gear, I thought he was just trying to be positive but Canes did have more to give and they started overwhelming the islanders as game went on. I don’t think Islander have more to give, they simply don’t match up well vs Canes.
